I can hardly wait to see the picture of Fritz using his new walking toy. :)

That's awesome that you got a treadmill for him. Can't wait to see some pictures of him actually walking on it.

...we have one at the shelter where I volunteer and some of our dogs do really well on it. I never even thought about trying a cat on it.
 
Had the scare of a life time this morning. I tested Fritz AMPS 129 fed him and at +1 I gave him a nice healthy portion of food and left to go work on a roofing project with our crew. I text my beautiful DIL Jen and said please go check, test and feed Fritz at +4.5 and text me his #. It all went down hill from that moment on he was 43 she gave him his food and drizzled honey and tested at 4.75 53 I said feed him 1/2 can FF LC chicken with a nice helping of honey and please test in 15 minutes the text came back at 23 I about had a heart attack. I said keep me on the speaker on the cell phone and start rubbing honey on his gums. He howled , hissed and growled and bit and scratched her pretty bad. I said keep getting honey in him I'm about 20 minutes away and of course the rental car we rented had a rear passenger tire going flat I told my DH just drive if it goes flat Jen DDIL will have to get Fritz in the car and head to the vet for Emergency care. Fritz would not let her get close to him to do any more testing. When I raced into the home he was in the bedroom frightened but still alive. She saved his life by risking her life getting that honey into him any way see could. Fritz had it all over him she had it all over herself but he is alive. Needless to say the four of us DH DIL and son are emotionally exhausted.
 
Ohmygosh! That sounds totally scary. :eek: Thank goodness your DIL was around to test and managed to get Fritz up. I wonder if the 23 was a faulty test. No matter, the 40's are low enough.

I would definitely reduce to 5.5 units. Might even do a BCS or 1/2 dose tonight to drain the depot.
 
OMG Deb!! Thanks God for DIL! She saved the day and so sorry that you had this kind of upset on top of a rental car with a bum tire. So, did you have to go to ER??

No I was able to get his numbers back up. He slept the rest of the afternoon. DIL said he looked like a drunk cat when he tried to stand and walk.

She has a couple deep wounds in the inside of her hand. I told her I'd pay for a doctor or hospital visit she said her DH helped clean and bandage them. I am so proud of her she did not give up in him.

Thanks Wendy his +11 is 178 so I'll do 5.5 and monitor close tonight or if I chicken out I'll do 4u
 
Carol I had no idea they could be that bad. I'll go check on her and make sure we keep a close eye on them.
