? To avoid a bounce, feed a bit more?

Fearless is headed for a repeat of last night. Not sure when he bounced, but he started today @ 442. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...5-177-6-166-8-116-9-142-pmps-237-3-91.177555/

Was it the 91 @ +3 last night that caused the bounce or the 67 earlier in the day? Either way, I'd rather avoid the bounce if possible. I just fed 1/8 can (versus last night at same time when he got 1/4 can and jumped 90 pts in 2 hours). Wondering if I should feed more.

Both fast drops and lower numbers can cause a bounce. Looks like Fearless has both of them going for him tonight. On the plus side, he got a few hours of green again.

Teasel is extremely bouncy and I've resigned myself to that. I feed his regular meals and give a snack at +2 in the day if he's dropped significantly and at +2 every night. If he's into lime green I'll steer with honey added to LC food. Beyond that I don't intervene to try to control bouncing because I'd be spending all day every day testing and feeding little bits of food. I couldn't sustain that over time without going bonkers. I have to handle his FD in a way that reduces stress on both Teasel and me because we're in it for the long haul.

I hear you. I'm working on 5 hrs sleep per night and feel I'm going to hit the wall soon. Today I'll try to test a little less and find a more sustainable feeding schedule.

Those of us with bouncy cats have a harder time treating FD. We really do have to find a happy medium that keeps kitty safe, controls BG decently, reduces the dives into lime green and leaves us with enough of a reserve to get on with the rest of life. It's easy to get mired down in numbers and the desire to control where they go because we want the best for our kitties. It's a good exercise to ask yourself, "Can I sustain this long term"? If the answer is no then you need to adjust what you do. I've gone through this in my own mind many times. I truly know how you feel.

Liking how quickly he is getting back to blue/green, at least he kept it pink for this mornings bounce, with how quickly he is clearing I would suggest a +2, then if that's still high ease off the testing by all means.

+2 was 355 (I've started a new thread for today) so it's definitely more than the overnight bounce of the last few days. I'll wait until +4 or later to test again.
