Going to pick up new insulin today, if I can get motivated. Drizzly morning here in So Cal and is nice and quiet.

I did open the DM can last night and put a little in Taffy's dish for snack. He did not touch it, so I guess that's that. I am increasingly confused on what to feed this dude, though. If LC raw does not keep him down what else can I do? I am going to increase the insulin after I try the new pen, but I don't want to get on the bouncy roller coaster!

Another thing that the young lady vet commented on yesterday was how beautiful Taffy's coat is for a cat his age. She asked if I brush him a lot. I said I do brush him regularly, but that I think it is his raw homemade diet that makes a difference. No response.

Wondering if that skipped shot on 5/2. That usually starts the cycle all over on that current dose.Although I see 8 cycles of 1.75.
With the blue last cycle I'd see if he comes down today. Usually a flat cat means the next cycle or two could give you some action.
If no green today you could up the dose to 2u and hopefully see some movement if you are able to monitor safety first......
Hopefully others will have something to say.
You won't usually get a good response on feeding raw. As we travel a lot Fritz has to see many different vet clinics and only one barley commented on it's k to feed raw.
I would not feed my kitty any thing but RAW.
Way cool on the soft coat:cool:

Hey Girl!
Keep hoping I will bump into you at the feed store..I'm there a lot more now! Have you tried the Stella and Chewys dinner morsels? I left the Rad Cat and since then Lola quit resembling the worlds longest running bulemic..:):cat:
I am alternating between the freezedried with added water ( lots of water) and the frozen. They are the ONLY raw nugget/patty/ shred etc that does not have fish of any variant or kind lurking in the ingredients. Found that out the hard way given Jett's severe fish allergy. Funny if I give one or the other two times in a row they won't eat it but if I mix it up they will. I mix the rabbit and turkey together in the freeze dried and am mixing the chicken and rabbit in the frozen dinner morsels. I just tried adding some duck too as I was low on chicken.
Jett's coat looks beautiful.
When Gussie was alive I tried both of these and they wouldn't touch them so who knows why they were accepted this go around...
They liked the pronto raw pellets but they had aieeeeeee fish in them:eek::mad::mad::banghead::banghead:
Eat your FUDS Taffy!
Btw been wanting to ask where you got the whole quail he was munching on in your video?:bighug::bighug:

Yup, it's funny to me. We have been to at LEAST 8 different vets with Taffy alone, and I have seen several other with previous cats and dogs. I used to get lectured on the homemade (cooked & raw) not being balanced, etc. Now it seems I just ususally get no resistance, no comment, but they seem to be accepting that more pet parents are going the homemade route and so are not attempting to deter me anymore. They do always want to give the Rx foods, and the funny thing is that they seem to really really believe that these foods are magic and best for the pets. I don't get it. CLEARLY, feeding a balanced, FRESH, preferably homemade diet is best. My pets appearance is evidence. Now, why did Taffy become diabetic, I don't know. He is older, for his breed. I believe that if I had fed Rx foods like the vet wanted when he had started with digestive and pancreas issues, he might not still be here.

Taffy is currently eating fine...I am just trying to figure out what else I can feed to help his blood sugar management. I try supplements, etc, but still tweaking things. Also, he does get some constipation occasionally. Other than that, he's doing ok. I just hate giving him these insulin shots when I feel like they are not helping much. We'll see. As I have said, my time is also occupied a lot with my elderly friend with dementia. Taffy and Baby are getting shorted on attention sometimes.

Good to "hear" from you, Les! Glad the civvie's well, and you too, I hope? I have not made it in to the YL Pet Food Warehouse (?) much lately at all. I do occasional product demos over your way at Anaheim Mother's Market and always think of you.

I got the quail at a new huge Mexican market by my house in La Habra (Northgate) 4-pack $6.99 Going to defrost another one today!
