On second thought, are you doing SLGS or TR? If SLGS, then I wouldn't shoot. It's hard to say with so little data recently. I'll leave it up to the pros.
TR - shoot anything over 50. Can you monitor? Do you have a lot of supplies on hand? I did a 89 yesterday and Rex earned his first reduction.I'm doing TR
Thank you!! I really appreciate the help and support!!This link has information on lower than usual preshot numbers:
CORRECTION THAT WAS THE WRONG LINK I WILL TRY TO FIND THE RIGHT ONE
Remember though that a pet meter uses a higher cut off number and reduction number with TR. It is suggested that you have some good data as to how low a dose is taking your kitty before you attempt to shoot lower numbers.
ETA THIS is the right link:

Thank you, @Tuxedo Mom!
I didn't know Cindy was using a pet meter. I was focused on the numbers. Thank goodness!
Did you feed after PMPS? If so, that's food influenced. Do a +2 and +3 if you can.I just re-checked his blood sugar an hour later and it is now 146
The main thing you need to be concerned with is keeping your kitty safe as well as treating the diabetes. Shooting lower numbers can be useful in controlling glucose levels but you also want to have some good data. With the 102 preshot you don't know if your kitty dropped lower during the cycle and is on the way back up, or if your kitty is still dropping. That is why you stall without feeding and do a retest. However even if Baxter is on the rise, you don't have a lot of mid cycle data lately to know how low that dose is taking him.
Once you get a retest done you can post the number here. What or if you shoot will depend on what reading you get, as long as he hasn't eaten since the preshot test and whether you are able to stay up and monitor if necessary.
Also, it would be a good idea to add that you are using a pet meter to your signature so that it is clear to everyone.
Yes... he had done food. I will recheck in another hour . ThxDid you feed after PMPS? If so, that's food influenced. Do a +2 and +3 if you can.
No ketones or health problemsHas Baxter had any health problems such as ketones or the such? If so then you should not skip a shot. I hate to suggest skipping a shot, but if shooting any later will mess up your shooting schedule then that may be the way to go. His numbers will be high in the morning though. It would be very helpful if there was some way to get tests around +4-+6 after the shot to get a better idea of how low this dose is taking him.
ETA The problem is that if Baxter is dropping a lot lower during mid cycle it may require a dose adjustment, but without those readings it is hard to say how low he may be getting. TR is an aggressive protocol and it is good to know what the nadir (lowest number) is when making dosing decisions.

It is now several hours after the usual shot time. If changing your shot times by this time amount will mess up your shot timing then it is best to skip the shot and continue with your regular schedule. If you need to adjust the time for tomorrow you can pick any time that suits you since you didn't shoot tonight. Getting the midcycle test...if possible...will give a better idea how well Baxter is responding to the current dose. Your AMPS will be higher because of the skipped shot, so you will want to hold the old dose for 3 days (count starts over on TR with a skipped shot) unless the numbers drops too low.
Yes!!!! He's headed in the right direction!!and you finally saw some better numbers.....
good to see that change....
