4/22 Rusty #2 AMPS 502; +6 98; +7 60/30/58 (!!!)

YIKES! How does one go from AMPS at 502 to a +7 of 60/30!? He was fed a small LC meal (1/4 can Friskies) at +6 and again at +7. He's not symptomatic for hypo but ate his +7 meal pretty ravenously. I will be testing again in 5 minutes. Reduction earned? Would I follow the .25 rule and go down to 1.75 or go to 1.5?

Definitely a reduction earned! Good catch. Normally you would go down by .25 units. With that low on the AT, the size of drop and inability to monitor, I would be tempted to do a .5 unit decrease. Who is in and giving the shot/testing tomorrow?

And right when I wonder if I should increase, he lets me know that...NOPE! I will be coming and testing tomorrow AM. I think I'll do the reduction to 1.5 tonight.

I wasn't there when the test came back at +6 for 98 but brough a load of kittens in (that someone dumped in the back of my husbands truck!) at +7 and saw the number. I thought either the strip was bad or he was heading for a free fall, either way a test wouldn't hurt and boom! Lucky catch for sure!
