a long yesterdayhttp://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...2-5-124-2-107-5-58-5-5-71-6-92-9-5-61.176652/

:coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee: long day and night!
I gave him another reduction down to 7.5u hoping this will hold if not I'll go back to the 3 #'s 68 or lower.
My reasoning is with the oral pred and the thyroid med he was on raised his numbers now that he is off the thyroid look at how fast his cycles are in the lower numbers.
Day 2 of his Orbax antibiotic thankfully so far no side effects.:)

Prayers and healing vines for all those that need them.:bighug::kiss:

I hope the Orbax gets rid of the infection.
I do too! I'm not real clear on what to look for to see if it goes away. I had no clue he had an infection. He just started throwing up at 2:30 pm and 6 times by the following morning. Do infections cause them to vomit? Vet said dehydration. I always add extra warm water to his food. He also has a fersh fountain I keep cool clean water for him to drink. She said no need to get an x-ray of the lungs when he finished the Orbax. I'll be in Yakima Washington I have a great vet there who I'll have do an examine and x-ray for my peace of mind. Who knows if this stuff works for lung infection. My research said very little if any on lung infection or URI. Time will tell! Fingers crossed and lots of prayers.
Have a nice day Carla:)

I am so happy Fritz is eating again. I hope you can get a nap in today. You had a looong night last night!

That's exactly what's needed - more water. Ducia was taking AB for infection and we pushed more water into her to increase urination. Human medic that I have at home says that the infection treated with ABs needs to be "peed out". So that extra water is good for Fritz. :bighug:
PS. What a night you had!:bighug:

@carfurby Can you give advice on a dose for Fritz? Should I reduce again or stay with the 7.5u? I still have an hour before PMPS I could wait and see where he is at????

I think it will depend on what his PMPS is, if he is eating good for you, and if you can stay up and monitor. Today's numbers could be influenced by the depot. However, if he isn't eating very well and you can't monitor, you may want to reduce the dose.

He's eating good and I can stay up to monitor so I'll see what his PMPS

and then probably shoot the 7.5u.
Thank you for such a quick response your the best:):bighug:

Awh! thanks for checking in on us. I sure could use some sleep but he was PMPS 98 +2 143 so not sure what to expect.

I see.
I thought you would reduce after that 40 in the yesterday AM cycle.
I hope Fritz has nice and safe surfing and makes it quite for you!

I didn't want to give too many back to back dosecreases. You can have the reverse effect resulting in higher numbers and have to start over going down the dose ladder The nice part about that is I know my cat and I am able to closely monitor.:)

I feel so proud of you for doing the right for the cat but hard on the bean thing!:bighug:
And Fritz had beautiful surf! Actually, he grows greener by the night.
I wish I had your guts and confidence last night...
Wishing you both safe surfing and restful weekend :bighug:

You do too! As we get to learn our cats by the data this gets a bit easier. Your doing an awesome job!
