Can't be upset! Definitely more consistent.

What do you mean an insulin you wouldn't have to worry so much about? My guy was on Vetsulin for almost a year and did pretty well on it, he even got good duration from it. I changed to Lantus because I wanted to try and bring his dose down, and I was looking at possibly being hospitalized for a while so wanted an insulin that my son could give that I wouldn't have to worry so much about.
That's one of the many things that makes this place so great - all the sharing of info! What do you mean an insulin you wouldn't have to worry so much about?
Switching is definitely in the back of my mind, but I told myself I'd give vetsulin a fair chance. I kinda just wish i knew before what I know now because it would have made me change my mind on certain things. It's hard financially when anything sudden comes up that you're not prepared for. But when I was hit with a $500+ vet bill after a few weeks before getting another $500+ vet bill for our other cat having a urinary blockage, I decided on the cheaper insulin. I didn't know you could buy from Canada, or use the pens until they are gone.![]()
I thought the same thing. I called my vet and asked to switch. She convinced me to give vetsulin a bit more time. A few weeks later I finally started seeing good results (once I started young again zero carb food). What do you mean an insulin you wouldn't have to worry so much about?

I'm definitely not giving up on it any time soon. I know it takes timeI thought the same thing. I called my vet and asked to switch. She convinced me to give vetsulin a bit more time. A few weeks later I finally started seeing good results (once I started young again zero carb food).
Did you feed kitty JUST young again and no canned? Is it ok for non diabetic cats?I thought the same thing. I called my vet and asked to switch. She convinced me to give vetsulin a bit more time. A few weeks later I finally started seeing good results (once I started young again zero carb food).
Yes! I'm so thankful I've found this place. It makes me feel a little less alone. That's one of the many things that makes this place so great - all the sharing of info!![]()
Yup.Is it ok for non diabetic cats?
When I was getting her off insulin I gave 1.5-2 Oz of fancy feast classic morning and night before shot time, and Yaz out all the time. It doesn't raise her bg at all.Did you feed kitty JUST young again and no canned? Is it ok for non diabetic cats?
Great numbers. On another note, angel seems to maybe have a nadir around the 7-8 hour mark. More data needed though.
I didn't want to have to worry about my son potentially needing to make dosage decisions/changes, or deal with a hypo or a big bounce, as he knows nothing about FD. Lantus typically produces flatter cycles and I thought that would be easier for him (and give me greater peace of mind, having to leave my furbaby in his care!).What do you mean an insulin you wouldn't have to worry so much about?
