Anyone Feeding Halshan's Raw?

Hi everyone. One of my foster kittens started having pudding stool. The rescue vet gave me 7 days of flagyl which worked but it returned four days later. I tried a couple days of baby food and pumpkin and it stopped on day two only to return. I was feeding fancy feast and wellness kitten. The rescue suggested I try raw. Since I had fed some freeze dried Primal I bought a bad of frozen. I tgen switched to only Primal and I think it's working. The rescue has used Halshan's with success. It looks like only the turkey and chicken come with bone but they have seem to gave an additive youncan get in place of bone so I can switch protein sources as needed. I've never fed raw before so am clueless. I'm trying to find a more economical way to go with choices. The wellness was expensive too and one can't handle it. Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've never heard of Halshan's. It looks good. The carbs on the mixed protein diet (#1) come out to a little above 10%, the turkey just under 5%, using my carb calculator app (it's usually pretty close).

I used to feed Nature's Variety raw, my guys all loved it and my little girl with IBD did really well on it, no diarrhea. If I only had one or two cats to feed I would probably still use it, but it got to be a little beyond my budget for feeding it full-time to four cats.
 
@Squalliesmom, thanks. Well now one has hard stool from Primal and the other has loose again. :( I got a call back from the owner and my head is swimming! She said there's too much bone in them for cats and the turkey one needs more protein. She said not to get tge ones with bone or even vegetables. She gave me all kinds of ideas on making my own but I couldn't take notes as I was on my cell without pen and paper. Honestly I want to buy a food that will be good quality and keeps them healthy. I was not prepared for challenges so early on and it's frustrating.

I understand completely! I debated making my own raw food, but it wouldn't really save me any money and I would spend half my time just making food, for four cats, not to mention the cost of buying a good grinder. If you haven't tried the Nature's Variety raw it might be worth a try, if your budget can handle it. It was the only food for over a year that didn't give my IBD girl diarrhea, hers actually cleared up while she was on it, so I feel like it is probably okay for sensitive tummies. Also probiotics can help, I give 1/2 capsule morning and night of Renew Life Ultimate Flora 15 billion.

If you want to try making your own there are lots of recipes online. All the companies that make additives/mixes for raw diets have recipes, and Dr. Pierson has one on her website, as well.
