If I'm not mistaken, this +3 means it should be an active cycle. I've asked staff to do their best to get a +6. He's spending the day in our outdoor cattery and I went in after the gym to put his lunch in with him so that he can eat a little earlier and maybe it won't allow him to get so low during the afternoon. Fingers crossed he doesn't take a dive again!

As usual, cats have selective hearing. Maybe he's getting a little more exercise in the outdoor cattery, which can also lower the BGs.

It's pretty amazing how that solar bouncing has stopped...and so suddenly. His +6 is 109 ☺️ I was beginning to think these kinds of numbers could never be achieved. Would it be horrible to drop him down a little further tonight to 3 units...even though he hasn't quite earned it?

It helps that you haven't had to skip the PM doses. And towards that, I think it would be OK to lower the dose to 3.0 units. Note to any lurkers, this is a recommendation for Rusty's special circumstances only.

Thanks! Staff was able to test again at +9 and it was 89. Hard to say if he went lower and is coming up or if he's currently on his way down. Either way, does that now count as a technical "earn"? ☺️ I have a feeling we will be getting into the 2u doses soon!

Yes, he's earned the reduction. :D Even though it was close to the previous reduction, again being a little cautious with the change in food and monitoring situation. Did staff top up his food after the last test? We don't want him heading down any more this cycle. Removing dry food can have rather dramatic changes in dose needs.

I'll check and see and if not, I'll have them give him more. Should we reduce his dose by a bit more? Maybe go to 2.75 or 2.5?

I think 3.0 units should be OK. The 3.5 unit depot is still influencing this cycle. However, if he keeps going down by PMPS, that may change things.

Will you be around between 6-6:30 tonight to advise if his PMPS is too low? If not, maybe give me some guidelines for a few scenarios now?
