I still can't believe these blue cycles! I never really thought I'd see cycles like this! I'm happy and excited.
 
His nadir seems all over the place in the morning cycles and around +3 ish on pm cycles... is this unusual or will it change once the depot fills?
 
Once he starts getting down into lower numbers, his nadir may settle down. I say "may" based on personal experience and ECID. My joke is that Neko on Lantus reliably nadired anywhere from +3.5 to +13, though most often in the +7 to +9 range. It generally is later in bounce breaking cycles.

The depot should be pretty close to full now. One more day on this dose and you might think about an increase to 8.5 if he doesn't see green before then.

I was starting to wonder when the first increase would be. I'm really enjoying the lack of "guessing" with the dose each cycle. I get nervous every time I shoot but it's getting better. These numbers are amazing compared to what he was getting on prozinc and I hope he continues!
 
I really liked having a protocol in front of me too. Unless there was a surprise in the AM, I knew what the morning's dose was before bed. No fancy thinking in the morning before :coffee:.

The protocol says to hold the first dose 5-7 days and you are getting mid blue nadirs so could probably increase after 5 days. Unless Chuck is listening. The dosecrease threat is a powerful one for some cats. :smuggrin:
 
HAHA yes! He responds well to threats of getting a big poke from the vet or if I have plans! I think an increase would be ok after 5 days. If anyone else thinks I shouldn't yet just let me know. I'm only busy two days next week and DH can take care of things while I'm not home. I'm getting more strips tomorrow just to keep my supply stocked up.
 
Is it normal for him to have a soft lump where I'm injecting him? I never noticed it on prozinc. It feels like he has some extra fat there. Soft and not hot to the touch or anything. Just wondering if I should try another area til that one is gone?
