Any advise I could get about Angels blood glucose numbers would be great! I've attached both of her spreadsheets. First one during the month we were using the pet meter. Her levels over the last few days have remained consistent at least but still too high. How many more days should we wait before a possible increase? She was at 4 units per vet but we took her back down after doing a lot of reading and realizing it was too much too soon.
Will be at work all day so might not get the chance to respond right away so thanks in advance!

Don't just focus on the Preshot numbers :). When do you think you could get a curve in, so we can see how low the dose is taking her?

I agree. You need data from the mid section of a cycle, if not daytime then just before bed. The preshot numbers can be relatively high with Vetsulin while dropping them fairly low mid cycle at the same time.

you just started 3.... get a curve in today if you can. That's a test every two hours for 12 hours. That way we can see what the curve looks like and how low it takes her. I want to focus on how low it goes, not how high it starts. that high starting number will come down as you get her down lower and her pancreas can heal.

Don't dread it. Cats will pick up on that and think something bad is coming. If you can poke and test you can do a curve. Stay positive, we'll all be here.

Is the problem you are having with testing that you are nervous or that the cat hates it? My cat grew to associate test with snack so she didn't struggle.[/QU

it just breaks my heart. I don't know why. Considering that she is a sassy girl she is so well behaved. We went from my bf having to hold her down as I took the sample to me being able to do it myself with not much fuss from her. I just put her between my legs and baby her for a few seconds then just do it. I've gotten really good at it and 9/10 times I get blood on first poke. Just nervous still :( she's my baby and I hate she's sick.

Awe... They really don't feel it much.

I still hate doing curves. Hang in there, just keep loving on her, and you'll get through it. It's so great to hear that the testing is going well for you, even if it is hard on your mama-heart! Sending you and Angel hugs! :bighug:

Remember, you are doing this to make her feel better. Because you love her. Go into it with that attitude and she will pick up on it.

Great job! I know testing isn't exactly your favorite thing right now, but....any chance you could get another test in tonight before bed?

I might hold the dose for another day if she was my cat. It looks to me like she may not have cleared the bounce from that 193 yet when you bumped her up to 3.5U, and you don't have very many mid-cycle tests except for today's, so there's little to use as reference. I 'd hold it for another day and see where she ends up, especially if you can't monitor her. I always fall on the side of caution, though, because hypos are never good!;):)

Thank you! I was thinking that too. :)
