Hello! I'm a little concerned about Gizzy dropping today. He's been fairly steady in yellow. He started going back up at +7 before I gave him a small meal. I'll test him again 30 minutes after his meal. Any thoughts?

These are very nice greens. Which Lantus protocol are you following - TR or SLGS? I'm asking because that will determine whether you hold this dose or reduce by 0.25 u. With TR you would reduce if he got down to 50 on your human meter. With SLGS you would be doing a weekly curve and reducing if he drops to 90.

Great catch at +3!!!
Looks like he's coming up on his own now as long as that last small meal was low carb. If that's the case you could wait a little longer to test him. Of course if you're worried that he'll drop again, go ahead and test.
Looking at his spreadsheet it seems like he's had some nice low numbers in between the yellows. Not sure if this drop is because he is clearing a bounce or not. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
I'll be checking in to see how Gizzy is doing.

Looks like I cross-posted with Kris. Glad she is on it!

Hey there and I don't think I have ever posted on your thread before. Hi!

Great catch with the 56 today. One observation: I am so glad that the last 3 nights you are getting PM number. Very important. Most kitties go lower at night and to get those nadirs during the PM cycle is important and can help you understand the AMPS number.

Keep posting and keep asking questions. :cat:

Hi there! It's tough to get those nighttime numbers! Do any of you have a recommendation for an auto feeder for wet food? I only need one for a +6 snack once in a while.

Could you at least get one before you go to bed? All info is good info. A +2 number will tell you if need to keep getting more test. If the + 2 is the same as the Pre Shot number or lower, it is going to be an active cycle and could require more tests.

I use the Pet Safe 5. It has 5 slots but in my opinion, if you are going to invest in one, get one that has a few feeding openings because when Gizzy starts earning reductions you might need them.

Yes, I moved his feeding from 10 back to 9 so I can get a +2 and possibly a +4. I'm also checking him a couple times throughout the night. I didn't know the nighttime numbers were this important. I thought as long as I was getting daytime I was all set. I'll continue to get nights now that I know. I'm glad you mentioned needing more feedings when he's lower. I hadn't thought of that.
