Squallie seems to be feeling better this morning. He only ate about half of his brekkies, but I think/hope he'll probably come back to it later and finish it up. His ears are still warm but not burning-hot, like they were last night. And an AMPS of only 85 tells me he's probably feeling better, too.

Prayers and healing vines to all who need them.

Lucy, if you ever find out what causes the warm or hot ears, please let me know because Shoes does the same thing at times. When he was first diagnosed, his ears were hot most of the time. Now, it is occasionally.

With Squallie, I always think "infection-fever" when they get really hot, but when he gets to the vet there's no fever, so I really don't know, Sandy. Sometimes they are SO hot! I wonder if it's related to him regulating his body temperature? I just don't know.

I did a little searching today and found something that made a little sense to me. I did not save the link though. Basically it said that the outer part of the ears have lots of veins and at times the veins dilate and that can be one reason. This article also said that if it was a fever that the kitty would seek out a cool place like on a bare floor and stretch out the body to touch the cool surface. I know that I have taken Shoes' temp when his ears have been hot and it was normal so the article made some sense.

Yo Deputy Squallie, Glad you're feelin' better this evening. Still, don't be over-zealous in your training. Watch the lagoon and observe which kitties are the ones to keep an eye on.
