Hi, I've been reading many posts today and thought of a couple questions.

I read that one member said EVO raised the bg by 100 points. However, EVO is readily available at my nearby pet store. Should I go ahead and try that because I need to switch from Fromm's Game Bird Recipe dry food that I just realized is at 28% carbs? I also saw people mention getting samples from Young Again. I went online and left a message, but I haven't heard anything back. Is there a better way to do it - like call?

I see people also talking about freezing canned food and leaving them out during the day. In what do you feed them in? I have 4 cats. I have 4 small metal dishes that I use, but I don't know how that would work. I definitely can't afford 4 separate timed feeders. I will continue to offer dry food because one cat occasionally cannot eat canned food (sensitive stomach maybe) and he will go eat the dry food instead while the other cats are chowing down on their canned food.

I would try the Evo. How a cat's BG reacts to carbs is cat specific.
My Dulce went into remission eating mainly Evo, he did not like/eat much canned.
II tried YA but my cats really did not like it. My dog loved it.

For YA, I just did the Contact Us option that sent an e-mail. Got a response pretty fast, think later that day to clarify. It's actual people that respond, not an automated system, cos there were typos ;). When I freeze food I have to use the stainless steel dishes, would prefer ceramic. Glass broke because of water expanding when frozen , should've known.

If you want to try the EVO, ask them if you have problems can you return it if 75% of the bag is left. I know Petco has this policy anyway to help people try new foods for their pets.

Like Larry said though, each kitty responds to carbs differently. I learned the dry food carbs impacted Maury more than wet foods. The YA dry is not effecting his numbers as much as the Purina DM. :)

I may have been the person who said evo raised my cat's bg 100 points. I tried it first because I could get it locally. I wish it had worked :(. I gave it to a friend. Some people here use it with no problem so you may want to give it a go and monitor your diabetic's numbers.
