3/28 Peanut increasing from 1u to 1.25u

Good job on getting the new thread and link going. :) And best of luck with the new dose. I hope it brings some pretty greens and blues into the picture.

I was sleeping today so I couldn't do any tests but his pm test was a little lower, I don't have enough data collected to say if that is normal or not but I just wanted to get that number down a bit. I don't mind riding out on some high blues but the yellow is killing me. I'll be up all night tonight so I'll be doing some spot checks to see how he handles this new dose.
 
Just checking, on the spreadsheet tonight it says the dose was 1.5u. Did you increase it again? With a depot insulin, it can take a few cycles to see what it can do. Lantus doesn't work to yank down high numbers immediately, but it does work to lower blood sugar. I think it was ok that you went to 1.5u, only because you're following Tight Reg and Peanut didn't drop below 50 to earn a reduction the last time he was on 1.5u. However, if you wanted to see if the 1.25u would get him into green, he would've needed a few more doses at the 1.25u to see what it would really do for Peanut.

I'm not that familiar with Peanut's story, so maybe you already know all of that. Here is an explanation that I wrote for someone else about the depot, trying to explain how to work best with it in her dosing - perhaps it will be helpful. There is also lots of good info on the sticky about the depot.

OMG, thank you for pointing this out! I had just woke up and was half asleep. I was trying to hurry because I was running late and the increase to 1.5 was accidental on my part. I meant to only go to 1.25
 
I'm going to probably switch back to the 1.25u on his next dose. Gonna be spot checking tonight for sure now.
