Way to go Lincoln!!!!!

+3.5 88... ok that was fast again... gave some more LC... restesting in 30... if still falling will give some MC

PMPS 553 :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: bounce?? from not seeing green in days and then doing over 12 hours in the blues and greens??? only the third time he has given me black and the other two times were because of a skipped shot and the day i shot 3 hours late after shooting 3 hours early by mistake... restested the number is right... feel sick seeing that number

I know the sick feeling of staring at a black! Even knowing it's a bounce is still never easy. If you want to feel any better look at my spreadsheet a few days ago...lol.

ok at first i thought it wasnt enough insulin now i am wondering if its too much... first it was way up into red with massive falls... now tonight it was into black... any thoughts on this?? i am going to hold this dose for now... but its only been 3 hours and he is once again dropping fast and hard... i thought maybe he wasnt getting enough insulin to flatten him out... just wondering if others know more about this then i do can explain what is going on with Lincoln

Wow! That was one heckuva bounce! If you hadn't already said you retested and confirmed it, I would have been sure it was an error.

Lincoln, what are you playing at??? Slow your roll, buddy. I know Mama wasn't happy with that high number, but that is no reason to jump off a cliff.

I'm not sure how to answer your question about too much insulin. Maybe @Wendy&Neko will have some insight.

thats why i am worried @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey .... he bounced before yes... but never the high low... the whole reason i went to 6.5 was because at 6.25 he was going into the reds and then dropping fast... i am hoping that this is just a bounce from not seeing greens for a few cycles... before it was bounces into the red with fast falls and i guess i am worried now cause i dont want it being bounces into the black with fast falls.... at least he seems to be slowing down his fall now..

The way I look at it, Lincoln will tell you if his dose is too high. And you monitor enough to get the message. He also did another big drop this morning, which could have added to the bounce. Every once in a while Neko would give me an unexpected high number. I just shook my head and carried on. Any change in his food the last little while?

+7 315... he is already rocketing back up... this is just making me sick... the worst i had to worry about was a bunch of pink before... but now this up and downs seem to be becoming worse and the highs are becoming higher...

i used the Florentine as the MC to help with the fast drops to slow him down... which it was... but now i am wondering if its carrying over longer??? i hadnt been using the florentine in a long time with him.. besides that no... i buy all the soft food a month in advance and have a standing order for all the same kinds with petland...i will stop the florentine from this point on... and pray that it is the cause...

tested his Ketones on his meter... 0.4 which according to his meter anything below 0.6 is ok...

searched the forums... seeing others using florentine as their MC...

i know Lincoln wasnt regulated before... and we were working our way up and down the doses as needed... with bounces happening.. but nothing like these last two weeks have been.. i dread testing now.. i live in a very small town and i like my vets a lot but would consider them more GPs then specialists... i dont know what changed but something did and i am worried about Lincoln now...

will start recording once again what is fed in what order throughout the day... the vial of Lantus he is currently using has only a few doses left... will record when i change over to a new one like i usual do... i am at a loss... dont mean to keep saying the same stuff sorry not sure what else to do right now

Deep breaths. I know this is scaring you, but try not to panic. There are a number of reasons why Lincoln's BGs are playing games with you, most of them benign. The age of your insulin could be a factor, although unlikely. I lean toward the fact that he is a cat. ;)

You are doing a great job. Keeping records of his foods is a good idea, too. We'll get this figured out. :bighug:
