How early can I give Lantus?

Since he was in blue at 179 at +9, I would do a test at +11.25 and post. I think if he has risen then you can shoot at +11.5 (30 minutes early) to begin to get back on schedule. Depending on when you shoot tonight, if you shoot 30 minutes early tonight, I would keep the 12 hour schedule tomorrow morning and then shoot at +11.5 (depending upon his numbers) tomorrow night.

I overslept this morning, and Orion got his shot about an hour late. I would like to have him back on his usual schedule. How early can I give him his PM shot? 30 min? an hour?

Also, it's his 4th day on Lantus. I would appreciate hearing some thoughts on his numbers so far.

Hi Angela,
I see some typical new-to-Lantus ups and downs. I think your curve yesterday showed some bouncing from the green but hat blue today is interesting. You've gotten good advice about the schedule shifting. Lantus isn't as forgiving as ProZinc when it comes to moving dose times. The depot is a player that has to be factored in.

Glad some others replied to your question and I agree with Dyana about testing at +11.25 and see where Orion is . If he has risen, you should be okay to shoot 30 mins early .

He is looking nice so far, and is bouncing from that green on your first day on Lantus. Remember, it takes 3 days or 6 cycles to clear the bounce . :cat:

He's still flat, not rising. I would stick to +12 tonight and definitely get a before bed test. The bounce breaking cycles can be active ones. Start moving back your shot time so you shoot at PM+11.5 tomorrow morning. I hope that still lets you get to work on time tomorrow.

I will make it to work, but I won't be able to get a +2.
