? 3/15 Trouble Update- Numbers Higher. What dose to restart him at?

Hi everyone-
Well- Trouble has gotten back to his old ways- It feels like he needs a bit more juice..

I just updated his SS.. and overall he was hanging in the high greens- low blues- still normal numbers- but he took a nose dive this week... not sure if he got into some contraband (don't know how) or if something set him off.. We have been testing the past 4 days to see whats up.. and its not looking great- He did (I don't want to talk about it:banghead:) get into a few bites of CHela's food last night- but his numbers didn't rise too much from it.. They are also not going lower..

So... all you wonderful people.. what do we restart him at? And our insulin is probably 4-5 months old.. Is it ok to use it? It may even be older need to check.. Will make sure it looks clear..

We can start tomorrow am.. or Fri..

And I know that we should have been testing every day.. Life has been really busy and full for both me and DH, so let it go a little..

It's funny because @Dyana checked in with me the day after he had his high episode- must have been a 6th sense:)

Oh Asrael!!! I'm so sorry!!!! Trouble just loves L/L Land!!

Well, if you want to give his pancreas a good kick start, you can try 0.25u as long as you can really be on top of the monitoring. If you aren't able to do a good amount of monitoring, I'd start at 0.1u and then increase to 0.25u if he doesn't start showing major improvement in four cycles.

If the insulin is not last it's expiration date, has been in the frig at the right temp range, and has no floaties or cloudiness, you can give it a try.

I know.. I am pretty disappointed- and I feel bad for Trouble... He just can't be a normal cat! Will start .10 tomorrow- can moniter enough- but not as much as I would like for .25, with clients all day tomorrow and Fri. That gives him 4 cycles to Saturday when we can be around.

Well darn! Trouble did not listen to what I told him, did he? o_O

I'm sorry you have to start the juice again, Asrael, but hopefully he just needs a little support for a short time. I think you will be able to tell fairly quickly if the insulin is still good or not.

I hope Trouble climbs back on the wagon quickly!

Thanks So Much! I think it will be for a short time- he seems to be hanging somewhat steady... fingers crossed that is so...

and no he did not listen- to the threats either!

I think that's reasonable given your schedule. I hope a little support will kick him back into remission.

I hope Trouble's need for insulin is very short lived and that he will return to the falls soon!
 
Thanks everyone- So appreciate you all.. We woke up to a nice yellow- :arghh::arghh::arghh: 205. Almost started with .25, but if he did drop suddenly I can't be available-

So did a .10, I will be able to catch a +3...

Fingers crossed- Due to my schedule may not post the numbers the next few days on here- unless something weird happens- but will keep the ss updated.
