Can someone take a peek for me? I will wait a few minutes but it's time to feed and don't want to stray too far from schedule. Not sure if I should go with a dose reduction or just skip the shot. Would hate to see him jump back into 400s. Thanks.

if you are able to monitor.... Yes....

it's like keeping a lid on a pot on the stove..... if you want to keep your momentum.
be sure and get a +2....
if you are nervous, get a +1 as well.

I'll check back on you ... I've got to run to store.

As you are following SLGS I think stalling without food for 30min and seeing if he is on his way up would be a good option, remember on SLGS you would not shoot below 90.
It does look as he is flattish, or rising slightly at pmps, but it should confirm it for you, that option would not mess with his depot as much as giving a BCS.

But if the 30min stall is not an option you could give a BCS, remembering that if you shoot the first part of the cycle will likely play out the same.

btw, when you see blues or greens.... you might want to monitor a little more frequently.....
you have a few reds on your ss that look like bounces from a lower green than you are catching..... I think there could be a low in there..... and then he bounces into the red.....
The proof is catching it....

I have to eat soon and he will have such a hard time with that if I can't feed him. I know that sounds crazy.
LOL I understand completely, George would be the same.

Just wanted to add that I'm off to bed shortly so I won't be about, felt I should warn in advance.
Anytime you shoot lower than normal preshot I would recommend getting a +1 and +2.

ok, thank you and have a good night. I am going to test in a little bit. If it's still that low I may skip it. Not worth worrying because with storm coming if there is a crisis I will not be able to get him to vet.

That is a consideration. Though you have taken his dose up consistently so in theory you shouldn't be far of the mark with the dose, and as long as you have HC food in the house you should be able to keep him safe. But I understand where you are coming from.

ok He is 134 now, would I give nothing or a reduced dose, in your opinion? And then I'll decide. Appreciate the input. :)

Does everyone see no matter where I hit the "reply"?

He looks like he is on his way up, remember that the shot now will onset in a couple of hours so you are not shooting 134 but rather what he will be in two hours or so when he onsets, and he will likely be higher by then.

If it were me I would shoot, and get a +1 and +2, but I did follow TR and so would shoot anything over 50 (in practice I never shot below 60).
As I said I can't stay with you.
Your choices are still the same, but I do think that the stall has shown you that his BG's are slowly coming up so it should give you some confidence to shoot the full dose, but it's OK to do a BCS if you are not comfortable with that.

He is up to 142. I think I will shoot his reduced dose and I'll check hourly for a while. Poor little pin cushion

Thanks. I think I'll shoot him 1.5. He's eating now. Thanks so much. :)
I am around and can stay with you for the next 4 + hours.....

Thank you. I tried to answer from my phone but I don't see it here. Ollie was 213 at +1 and 171 at +2. Thought I'd test again at +4 (in one hour and 15 mins) unless you think he needs to be tested hourly til we pass nadir, whatever that will be. He will be fed regardless at +5 or +6. We do that to get through the night altho there might not be a night tonight ;)

if i'm reading right, you shot when he was 142. That is now the pmps number.....
you can stack numbers in the box on your ss and manually color the box again....
how ever long you stalled..... an hour would be +13 ~ ( put test number here)
and then put the right pmps there too.

I think your plan is good for testing.....
I just think as I said earlier that if you see a low blue tonight or even a green, you might want to set an alarm and see if you can catch what's going on.

I'm a little confused about what to do with the spreadsheet but I think I've got it fixed. I was too anxious to wait til 10:30 so I tested at 2.5 hrs.

Ollie's at 67 at +5 hours - feed him his normal food at this point and see how he does? He is still on Standard Time so he won't mind waiting a little while if he has to. I have both medium and high carb in addition to his regular food if I need.

Just fed Ollie some of his regular, low carb food to see how he does. I have both medium and high carb around if needed.

i'm not quite gone yet....
and i was feeling like he was going to slide back down. I think he's been trying to earn a reduction.
He's still safe....
It doesn't sound like you are panicking or any such thing....
remember...
you are there with him , monitoring the situation.....
if he gets too close to 50 you can start boosting with the medium or high carb.....

those last few blues that then bounced to red.....
it's very likely he had green in between..... and it must have been lower than his norm.

Thanks for checking back. He just tested 96 at +6 after some of his regular food. I'm going to give him some more and go to sleep. I think he is safe now. Thank you so much for hanging in with me. I will check him a bunch of times tomorrow during the day to see what's going on. We'll be stuck in all day with a big blizzard. Thanks again and have a good night :)

surf those greens Oliver.....

Good morning and thanks! Looking for the surfboard, LOL. We are up of course and have to wait another few minutes since we stalled last night. A hungry boy here. :cat:
