+12 was 67 - waited about 20 minutes (no food), retested at 94.

Decided to feed and shoot. Will be back at around the +8/9 to test again!

Nacho back in the green! Hold at 0.5u for now?

Since you are following SLGS, that sweet little 67 earned him a reduction down to 0.25 units. Congrats on the reduction. :D

Surf safe today Nacho.

How do I go about shooting that low? Does anyone have a photo of what that looks like?

I gave him .5u this morning (not realizing I should have done the reduction already). I wasn't sure if I should wait to see if he holds those low numbers.

I am thinking of switching to TR since I test him a lot anyways! My only issue would be the mornings I go to work with the numbers being lower. thoughts?

The second Sticky Note from the top of the forum has pictures of smaller doses. Here is the one for 0.25 units.

As far as switching to TR, you would have to add in some night time tests. A before bed test is a good one, and might have given you a heads up that he was planning on going lower for this morning.

As far as low mornings, is there any way you can switch your shot time so that you can get a +2 test before you head out the door? It's usually a good indicator of how the cycle is going to go. And if you see a lower +2 than the preshot, you can leave some higher carb food for him to much on while you are gone. There are some good tips for doing TR on a full time job in another sticky note.

I will check it all out tonight and decide and look at my schedule to see if I can change morning shot time!

Either way I should reduce to .25 tonight?

Perhaps if altering your shot time (if possible) to get at least a +1 or even better a +2, can be helpful.
A +1/+2 that is about the same or dropping can be indicative of an active cycle, giving you the heads up to leave out higher carb food to keep Nacho safe.
Using an auto feeder to supply Nacho with regular snacks is also helpful.

As you are at work during the am cycle it becomes even more important to regularly get in those PM tests, at least a before bed test. I used to shoot at 7am/7pm, which allowed me to get upto a +5/+6 most evenings, and I would pretty much always get a +1 or a +2 as well. Building up that sort of data would allow you to follow the TR protocol with more confidence.

Have you read this sticky?
Following TR with a full time job

Since you were just doing SLGS until now, I would do the decrease tonight. It's possible he went as low as 50 (the TR reduction point) overnight. If 0.25 units is too little insulin, then you can always increase back up.

Snow willing I am HOPING to be home all day tomorrow also where I can regulate tonight/tomorrow!

I live in NJ :) ! We are supposed to get a big storm.
