If Titi has acromegaly, which we suspect, then you don't need to worry about healing numbers. There's a good chance her pancreas is already working. It's the growth hormone and subsequent IGF-1 that is blocking the cells and preventing her native insulin from getting in, hence the need for injected insulin. What you do want to do is keep her mostly in numbers below renal threshold, which varies by cat but is somewhere high blues/low yellows. High numbers make her kidneys work harder, but they shouldn't be a concern for the other organs.

Thank you. That is a comfort.
However, I've nursed some 7 cats with CRF, and it's an expensive and, ultimately, fatal condition. 5 months to 4 years was my variance. :(
Looking at TiTI's numbers today, I'm feeling very discouraged. It appears that TiTi's hard-earned run of blues and greens are over. I overslept, so perhaps that explains some of this.

I think it was inevitable that she would eventually find the key to the trampoline room again. I doubt there was anything you could have done to prevent that. Hopefully she'll figure out pretty quickly that it isn't really that much fun and will stop playing around and get back to business.

I hope so. With all this bouncing, there's no way to know if her 10.5U dose is enough, too little too much...

Does the height of this bounce indicate that TiTi's insulin needs have once again soared?

Is there any benefit to TiTi to continue TR? We're a year down the road, and she apparently cannot be regulated. If I am correct in this, then I fail to see the point of all the frequent and painful ear pricks, or paying out 3 times what SLGS would cost in strips.

Much of this group is dedicated to going OTJ. We have celebrations for those who succeed. I wish those of us who cannot aspire to OTJ could have some milestones to celebrate.

Unfortunately, this is the point where you have to strap on those patience pants again. Titi has only had a couple of doses at 10.5 units, and she had a couple of doses at 10 units before that. You need to wait at least 6 units for the depot to build back up and see what this dose can do. There may be an element of bouncing, but it's also the depot trying to stabilize again so could be some New Dose Wonkiness too. The good news is that hopefully the bounce component will go away sometime tomorrow (6 cycles after that 29).

No, it's probably more a reaction the 29 which is lower than her body has seen before.

We also celebrate regulated cats. Maybe not with OTJ videos, but with a lot of these. :D:cool: With TR, it's easier to keep Titi in numbers that are below renal threshold.

Oh I intend to be patient. Good to hear that she might clear this tomorrow. She seems fine, dunno if she knows that she is bouncing all over the place.

WHEW!

That is worth it! I was thinking that I haven't had a lot of success. But when I look back at her first numbers before FDMB , and then last year, right after I joined, I can see a huge difference. Sometimes, ya' know, it just seems too danged hard. I'm glad I have all of you to help me get thru the hardest times. Thank you.
