Oh Sandy! You poor thing with all the illness and I hope you feel better ASAP. The long work days aren't helping.

I wasn't on the board much yesterday and missed your thread. Got to say that I actually heard Matthew McConaughey's voice and I got to tell you I have a high school girl crush on him. And I'll tell you a secret because I know it won't go any further: I have photos of him hanging up collage style in my basement where my laundry room used to be .

I think feeding LC on this dose will help until you can increase again. But waiting until after you return from Phoenix would be wise.

Hope you feel better.

I hope Chase surfs safely today and you feel better soon. Sending prayers.
Thank y

Thank you SO much. I can always use prayers. :bighug: You're right... the long work hours don't help. But I'm very blessed to have the job that I have.

How wonderful that my post brought back good memories for you. :)

Hi Bobbie. How is that Bubba boy doing? I'm so proud of you for getting him to this point again. I know how hard the work is. You are very dedicated to stay witrh Bubba until he went OTJ again. :)

Thanks Sandy. He is doing well but the weather here isn't cooperating for him to be outside a lot, which secretly makes me happy because I don't have to worry about how many mice he's eating, and getting worms etc.... but a promise is a promise and he has some QOL again and he just looks happier. Thanks for asking. :bighug:

Chase definitely responds to carbohydrates. He is now getting an equal mix of LC and MC and his numbers look good (I think). He doesn't seem to be doing the nose dive thingy. I'm so happy we finally got a green number. Green has always been my favorite color. :)

I gave him a TBL of Chase mix and I also gave him a LC snack. I'll be home for a little bit, watching him, and if I need to I can give him MC or HC.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. :)

Where do you live, Bobbie? Chase is 11 years old and has never been an outside cat.

I think you're doing fine. Chase is surfing nicely. If you're worried when you have to leave, you can always leave some LC out for him.
Thank you for being so supportive. I am excited because there is always the possibility that we can control this with food. We'll see. :)

Looks like Chase is starting to get the hang of this surfing thing.

Funny, I never liked green until I had a cat with FD! I learned to love it! :D

Sorry you got nailed by another bug. Sending healing vines.

We look at that, you talked about in increase and Chase it working the drop !
I know, huh? LOL. I am going to be paying much more attention to what he eats. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner. I started giving him MC when I increased his dose to the 0.1u. But when I was advised to take him back down to the drop dose, because he was doing the nose dive thing again, I didn't even think to change his food up. Its' so obvious that even the slightest bit of carbohydrate can change EVERYTHING. I would much rather get him and keep him in the healing numbers with less insulin and more of the "right" kind of food.

Thank you for the healing vines. I've never heard of them referred to as "vines", but I get the idea. LOL. I have been taking mega doses of vitamin C and hoping to at least keep the bug from turning into a monster. Unfortunately, I have to go back into work, tonight. We are finishing end of month stuff for February and it's GOT to get done. I missed 2 days of work last week and it put me so far behind.

This isn't a dire emergency but I just wanted to get a quick response about the nose dive Chase just did. :( Should I get out the HC or just try some MC?

of course ... there is the factor of you feeling ill....

you can slow him down more with mc if you want....
but he could need monitoring a few hours into the night.....

I gave him a little bit of MC. I have to go into work... otherwise, I would encourage the lower carb (which for him is equal parts MC and LC) and try to wait it out. I will test again in a few minutes and then I have to go. :(

be sure to leave food out so he can self serve ....
I don't know how many hours you work....
I'm only going in for a couple of hours but usually, when he dives, it's at +3. I wish I could be here but I just can't get around it. If he is dangerously low I will stick around, but I'm hoping that's not the case. I have a timed feeder, so I'll leave his down some food.

So now he's down another 20 points, at 82. The little bugger WOULD do this. It's rare I have to go into the office on a weekend and THIS late. I guess he doesn't want me to go, at all. :(

I just noticed he is doing very similar to what he did this morning. I guess it just freaks me out a little because he "mostly" does the dive dive thing in the morning.
