? 3/11 Fritz AMPS 321 Dosing advice

No condo yesterday Internet spotty

I think he needs a dosecrease up to 9.5u.
I'm having a hard time keeping his numbers stable with the every other day oral pred.
Would appreciate your advice.

When did you start the EOD of pred? Thought you were giving a smaller dose daily for a while? I'm not sure on the increase, for me there are too many empty spot checks to say if an increase is needed. Hope you're out enjoying the weather! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

At the request of the vet she said there would be less side effects if I gave it eod. I know with his numbers so high I was giving him a break on poking the ears.
I will be discussing giving him a different med that is suppose to have even less side effects.

Sometimes you can take a break from testing if they are in high numbers. However, that blue on the morning of the 10th makes me wonder how low he went the night before, especially since he jumped up to pink during the day. That looks like a bounce from a lower number.

Let us know what that is. I am sure there are a few people here who would be interested in alternatives to pred and what the alternative could be used for.

I think with a couple of night time tests, you could probably increase. Is there a reason you vary the amount of pred? I would have thought that would make it harder to regulate Fritz as well. Sending scritches to Fritzie.

The holistic vet wants him off it. His breathing isn't good when I try and taper him off. We're trying to find the least amount of dose that will keep his breathing stable.That's why I keep trying to get down to 1ml. Right now he's doing good on 2ml one day and 1ml the next. I always give it to him at night. I'm hoping for 1ml every other day. I tried every other day and he started having breathing troubles on the off day. This is horrible trying to manage asthma, diabetes and his weight gain on 4 to 5 ounces of raw food. I'm at a loss. I sure hope the vet has some solutions. Fritz gets BW this Friday and we talked about his thyroid or adrenal glands. Poor cat is for obese.
