I did not shoot yet - he is eating now. Should I wait another hour then decide? Thank you. I tested in other ear and 149.

Just a little side note....if possible try not to feed to see if he is coming up on his own....if fed it may be food induced.
I know it is hard when they look at you with those eyes!

Not happy your sick but good timing!
I am going to tag a few-
If you can monitor and know how to bring the numbers up if need be I personally would shoot but hold on-

In retrospect, next time you have a number 150 or above , I would shoot as long as you are going to be around to monitor like you were today. You have enough data on him now and eventually you will lower the 150 number. The experienced peeps here shoot anything over 50 but, that said, you need to get some lower numbers under your belt like today's 151 and see how Nacho does. We have a saying around here," Shoot low to stay low"

To answer you question above on how long to stall without feeding, give it 20 minutes and retest and if coming up feed and shoot But again, today you see now that you could have shot especially since you were around to monitor and steer if necessary. It is always scary the first lower than usual pre shot number. There will be another opportunity for you. ;)

Hope you feel better.

Since you are using SLGS, your no shoot number is recommended to be 90, not 50 (which is what TR does). As Nacho gives you more experience, and you have the opportunity to monitor (but get better you!), it'll be easier to shoot lower.

Thank you very much!

I hope to eventually switch to TR - just get too nervous for most of the week days when I would have to shoot and then leave shortly after - but once I get my schedule more regulated I can monitor Nacho better as I learn! He sure seems better since he has started wet food and insulin though. All of his dandruff (he had a TON when he was diagnosed) is GONE :) ! soft kitty again.
