Control Solution question

After noticing the significant distances between my ReliOn Confirm meter and the Alphatrak 2, I was wondering if the control solution should give the same reading every time? I know "control solution" entails that but wanted to ask before I used a couple strips that I could use on my kitty :cat:. Thank you! And apologies if the answer is the assumed yes :)

I know I will go crazy if I try to compare them but I am trying to figure out if 50 on the ReliOn human meter is really the danger point.

Each meter type has its own control solution. When I start a new vial of strips, I test one with the control solution to see if I get a reading within the range indicated on the strip vial. It's a range so conceivably the strips could give different readings within that range and be OK to use.

Yes, you will drive yourself crazy so take it on faith: 50 or lower on a ReliOn is a "take action" number and 68 or under on an AlphaTrak says the same. We have to work within general guidelines rather than trying to pin it down for that particular strip with that particular blood drop at that particular moment in time.
