Poked self prior to cat injection

Oh dear hope someone can ease my mind. I accidentally and didn't realize I poked myself prior to giving a insulin injection to my cat. Didn't notice till after the injection. saw blood on my finger. Will it hurt my cat that my blood was on the needle . I'm a disaster thx u

Unless you have some odd blood disease, your cat should be fine.

(Pretty sure we've all done this before, so don't sweat it! )

So did you grab a strip and test your BG? When I poked myself, that's what I did!!!

I've pricked myself after shooting and haven't turned into Catman yet

Yup, fortunately humans and cats are biologically pretty far apart, making it hard to share diseases. I've definitely done that too, ouch!

And that is how I learned the hard way why they say to never recap a used needle, it went right through the side of the plastic cap and ouch.... I clip them now. I haven't grown a tail or started craving kibble yet so I think I am in the clear.

Happens. Happened to me, and TiTi remained fine. It's afterwards that I so often poke myself. Getting right tired of it!

yes i agree. yes i did poke myself once after injection..my daughter an emergency room showed me how to prevent in future. but poking myself before injection...my fault in a rush (dummy) . thx for easing my ming
