AMPS 190

Gizmo is a member of the CBC :cat: this morning - and it was his regular fuds with the B-12 and joint juice!! I could just tell that he was going to eat when I got up. He came upstairs immediately. Was loving, purring. Feeling MUCH better - I have NO idea what was going on the past two days.

Since last nights shot was 30 min late - this mornings was 15 min late(r) (4:45a) than normal. Hopefully be back on track after tonight.

Did NOT expect a blue start - but then again I didn't expect them last night after the AM no shot - so who know what this cat is doing.

Shot 1.0U (shot with earned reduction from 02/20 PM cycle). Little nervous about the dose, but we will see what happens.

Hope everyone has a calmer, happier day today. Wishing all kitties the CBC award this morning.

:bighug:

Hubby and I were talking last night and it is possible that he got a hold of a lizard or something else from outside. We have had a lot of rain and it seems that drives the critters inside. We have caught him "in the act" several times before. Just a possibility.

That is a very good possibility and maybe he had a tummy ache a bit. Sounds like Gizmo uses the great outdoors as his Supermarket just like Bubba

Yay! Such a wonderful report on Gizmo! :cat: I am happy he is feeling good and eating.

I hope you have a nice day Lizzie!

He isn't an outdoor kitty, the critters find the way into the house. If it ever is a copperhead then I will have serious issues with hubby's lack of concern with the issue. For now, I have given up fighting him on it. Don't have the energy.

Interesting product, but if you need something to make dry food tasty, just switch to wet. Not sure I am a fan of the ingredients.

How about a nice safe surf tonight Gizmo?

I don't know on the carbs, can you email and ask them for the as-fed or dry matter basis numbers? I saw pumpkin, carrot fairly high up the list on some. Both are carbs.

ETA, it was sweet potato, also high carb

also high carb
:banghead:

Oh well. It was just something I saw.

I may give Gizmo another small dose of pain med tonight. He is still not 100%. Definitely better but still concerned.

I don't understand what his numbers are doing. It takes everything in my bones to shoot especially when I have to leave for work. He did eat his AMPS, +2.5 and +4.5 this morning, but not his +6.5 or his FD. He ate almost all of his PMPS and +2.5 snack is about 15 mins away. :nailbiting:

Have you tried Fortiflora? I'm not a fan of it but some kitties do take to it. It helped Doodles for some time but too much can give them loose stools. Fell better Gizmo and hope he eats for you tonight.

Did you look into the Canna pills? Kinda expensive IMO, but still less that a vet visit-lol. I ordered them for the reason you stated yesterday (jic). I figured, heck, with the $$ I have already spent on this cat, what's another $50:banghead:;).
That is my thought exactly. I didn't order yet but I will. Hope they have a long shelf life. Maybe refrigerating ?

Do you have any cat nip? That sometimes stimulates the appy. And sprinkling oregano over the food has gotten Bubba to eat. That was one of Carla's tricks she shared and really helped his last GI upset when he stopped eating.

He definitely isn't feeling well again. Didn't eat his +2.5. After the +3 I put about 1/2 into a separate bowl and added the FF F&S. Had to put him right in front of it and encourage him to eat. He finally ate some of it. IDK but I am about ready to throw up. I can't leave him if he isn't eating on his own. Gave him some pain meds about an hour ago.

I am going to get the +4 test and if he hasn't dropped a lot I will go to bed. Hubby will have to get the next couple of tests.

I am wondering if I should give him Mirtazapine, since it seems he isn't nauseated? He seemed to tolerate it ok last time I gave it to him.

Here is some information I was given one time for a cat that's not wanting to eat. I hope something helps Gizmo. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Do you have any parmesan cheese? If you maybe sprinkle a little of that on her food, she will perhaps eat? usually ondansetron is better for nausea than cerenia but it doesn't hurt to give her the cerenia....it can help.

Can you finger feed her....either see if she will lick food off your finger or will she let you dab some on the front of her tongue or on the roof of her mouth? Just be careful that it's only a small amount and that you don't get it down her throat.

Here's some info Jill often posts when a kitty won't eat:Here are some things you can do do entice your cat to eat:

-sometimes in order to get a cat to eat you even have to resort to dry it is more important that they eat. there are a couple low carb / grain free brands -- EVO and wellness core.

-making a buffet to give him choices
- heating food

sprinkle food with :
- forta flora -- a probiotic you can get at vets or online. is very smelly and cats love the taste of it.
- parm. cheese
- smashed crumbles of dry food
- bonito tuna flakes
- halo chicken treats -- crumble into dust over food
- poor a little water from tuna in water over food ( I use low sodium/no sodium added as other kinds in water has veg. broth in it and I assume that means onions, which are toxic to cats-- check labels)
-powdered oregano. yep sounds weird . but some cats like it and it will entice them to eat.

other ideas of foods to offer your kitty to stim appy:
- trader joe tuna for cats
-baby food -- beechnut turkey and broth or chicken and broth. they have no onions or other additives. some babyfoods have onions . please read labels if you can't find beechnut.
- kentucky fried chicken
- deli turkey /chicken
- plain cooked ( boiled or baked ) chicken breast
-canned chicken for people (watch the label that their are no onions)
- chicken broth -- low sodium

+4=119

I think he will be ok tonight (hubby will test again before he goes to bed). My concern it tomorrow - especially with not eating and being at work.
