Mini pj party last night after a +8 39, It's too early for a nap but I'm ready for one already. Shaved the dose down again this morning. I think it might be a little premature since the depot hadn't stabilized yet. If he trends up we can always call it a failed reduction and go back up.
No pokie breaks today with that +3, he's been told to behave but he can be a stubborn cuss.

Jack has been a new cat the past week, following me around, jumping up on the couch and being unusually affectionate. I'd say the best he's been since at least thanksgiving. I won't question it and just be glad he is happier.

Doodles has passed the 'Rotten Cat' hat over to Capt. Jack. Good call reducing and hope he surfs. Something is changing in Jack and with that 39 he wanted a bit more of a reducie I think. So glad to hear a happy cat report...makes all the stress, worry and exhaustion worth it. Hope you get that nap in today.

It's funny...well not funny but DH & I seriously thought Doodles was not going to make it until Christmas. His coughing/ breathing etc. from Thanksgiving to the end of the year was horrendous and he was clearly not feeling good. Since I took the Christmas tree down his been like a new cat again having mostly good days. So enjoy the new and improved Capt. Jack.

Saltycat was supposed to be a reference to his boating and salt water, not being an old crotchety stick in the mud.

It's tiring having to watch him so close, but the decreases and more importantly his increased happiness help make it worthwhile.

Jack is wearing the rotten cat hat in style, my spider sense was on alert this AM, but so far he is behaving... at least until I let my guard down for a minute:banghead:

A happy cat makes for a happy bean.. even if the bean is a little tired. Such a nice change from worrying about QOL.

Love the Captain Jack report. The middle of the night lows - not so much. That's a rude +8 wake up! I too would have reduced. My spidey senses are saying the antibodies are on the defensive. Which means caution first and many "temporary" reductions that work.

Hmm, antibodies gasping for air? That is one heck of a wake up call!

I have to remind myself that you are using Lev when I see that you shot a 52 without blinking. Not even a BOS award, as you shot a 51 last month!

Jack, cut the bean some slack, okay? He needs sleep, too.

The last 2 weeks or so have been quite the ride. I still can't believe he got up to 38u only a month ago and today we are at 22u.

I'm not saying it, but I'm sure thinking it loudly:D. It would be a nice victory for Jack to defeat one of his insulin foes.

It took a long time to get used to that, I still remember posting for dose advice when shooting low blues, how the times change with experience. With 2 high dose conditions, I've slowly figured out that he really lives by the shoot low to stay low mantra. Anytime I've done a big BCS or a skip he skyrockets.

Luckily, I work from home a lot and can test a lot, otherwise I don't think I'd be quite so brazen about shooting such low numbers. The late lev onset and his generally good food spike help. The funny thing is those don't scare me as much as the odd day when he goes from pink to light green for no discernible reason. It makes the late night test almost mandatory. One night last week I got a +5 of 318 and decide to get some sleep.... and wake up to a 36:nailbiting:. Those random drops really keep me on my toes.

He has had a nice lowish blue day, which after all the recent green is nice as long as he keeps it up. My general gameplan is to stick with 22u for 2 more cycles before making any decisions about a dose change, assuming he doesn't venture into sharkland. This will give the depot a chance to catchup to the recent changes and should give me a better idea what he can do on the latest dose.
