This is the start of Day 5 at this 3 u dose. If I had more data to go by, I likely would have bumped him up to 3.25 u this AM. If he's high today I'll do that tomorrow AM if the experts think that's advisable. His bounciness clouds the picture and makes it more difficult to judge whether a dose is too low, needs more time or has to be raised to "unstick" him.

Good morning , Kris and Teasel :). Just doing my usual morning stalking of you two ;):bighug:. Cheering u on from the Ozarks hills and hollers :);):bighug:.
Did you ever listen to the "Ozark Mountain Daredevils", Beth? I had their albums 'way back in the '70s.

OMG, Beth!!! What a small world!!! :woot::woot::woot::woot::D:D:D:D!!!!!!!!!!

High and flat on Day 5 of this dose. Learning more from this.

Teasel tends to respond to a dose, then bounce, occasionally will come down at that dose, but more likely will get stuck in high numbers. That's what he did on ProZinc and I think he'll do it on Lantus. With ProZinc, I'd boost his dose by a tiny amount and that would shift him but then the whole process would start over. It's a different world with Lantus and I need more data to learn from. However, I get the impression that if he shows a response initially but doesn't get low enough then goes into bounce mode, I can't leave him for 5 cycles at a dose. He gets really stuck - easily reverts to unresponsiveness (glucose toxicity, etc.).

I understand that I have to get him to low numbers to see better results and I'm aiming for that. This "bounce up and stick" phenomenon is a complicating factor. Just thinking//analyzing out loud.

My plan for tomorrow AM is to try 3.25 u, given that I had a couple of nice low numbers on 3 u. Any input on that?

High and flat, like Doodles was last night. I wonder if Teasel is playing the "high before the break" trick meaning might have something planned for tonight. If not I think it's fine to go up to 3.25u tomorrow.

Thanks, Karen. After reading your post about Doodles I wondered about that myself. I have a lot to learn about his response to Lantus and I don't want to jump to any conclusions too soon. Will keep a close eye on the evening numbers. Might have to set my alarm clock - yuck! I'm a wreck without good sleep but we do what we must.

Hopefully the +2 will give you some indication. Tonight will the 5th cycle from the 124. Pure speculation but either tonight or if his AMPS is lower than normal it could be tomorrow which would be the 6th cycle. I still think he needs an increase regardless but who knows! It's OK to increase during a bounce but not a good idea to do so when he's breaking a bounce. So basically, play it by ear.

I SO understand this "play it by ear" thing!!;) Thanks for the input.
