mr b's back legs have be getting worse over the course of these past 14 months since his diabetes dx. He has NEVER walked on his hocks. The legs are weak, stiff, and its hard to explain but the way his paws sound on the floor sound different, like they're hitting the floor harder.

We've had plenty of trouble getting his diabetes regulated and he has lost a lot of muscle mass.

He has been on zobaline for a few months with no apparent improvement. He's got other issues as well which may or may not be contributing. The vet has never actually stated what is going on with his hind legs and i've always chalked it off to neuropathy, as it makes sense in this situation. Adequan didn't do anything noticeable. Acupuncture didn't help, even with some laser therapy. It only seemed to annoy him. Being touched around his flanks and butt is very uncomfortable to him.

I'm doubling down on his zobaline to see if maybe that will have an impact. That'll be 6mg/day. Maybe i'd try even more than that. We recently were at vet and had labwork done but she didnt check his b levels.

How much is too much? Anyone else here have no luck with it ?

I would give your vet a call before doubling the dose.

B12 is water soluble and anything not used is going to be washed straight out of their system. A single pill is generally more than the cat can use - so some of it is probably already getting washed out. A second pill will probably just go straight through without any effect at all.

If your cat has any kidney problems there would be some difficulties filtering the extra.

I don't see any possible GOOD coming from a second dose. Most likely it'll be no effect, with potential for some bad if confounding issues are also going on.

Very good point about taxing the kidneys.
