Don't know how to handle this. Should I be adding honey to her food at this point?
I am giving her a TSP of LC every hour, but this dropping is beginning to worry me.

Here's the situation. Her BGs from AMPS:
136 AMPS
124 +2.25
84 +3.5
71 +4
61 +5
64 +6
68 +7
94 PMPS

And she was green last night from PMPS to +6, after which I fell asleep. She had risen on +6, so it was safe to sleep until AMPS.
She's not bounced, so I am a little concerned. Here's why

This turn around may have been affected by:
  • Pooping.
  • The antibiotics for her tail. The antibiotic she is on is also used for infected gums and teeth. Her breath's been bad lately.
  • The Lantus - Two cycles ago, I opened up a fresh vial of Lantus. It's possible that the former vial was no longer potent.
I don't think the poop had much to do with it, since it's from December 20th that her numbers got so high and she was pooping just fine until 2 days ago, January 5.

If the former vial of Lantus had reduced potency, then 9.5Units is most likely too much.
Feedback is needed and welcome.

She keeps dropping by about 10 every hour.

She is looking good, and hope she will keep surfing for you. :D What is wrong with her tail?

In a race to the kibbles her tail got caught in the door. :(:banghead:

Here's the rest of the description from an earlier post"
"Took her in, and the doc says to continue the antibiotics for 2 weeks just as a safeguard against infection - there is none, but diabetic kitties with injuries, especially in extremities, are more vulnerable to infections. I didn't know that, but it makes sense.
An odd thing I never would have guessed - the naked 1 inch of tailbone can stay naked, and will be fine. About an inch of shaved skin, right next to the naked part of her tailbone will also be fine. Our doc said the skin and fur may never grow back, but that's not a problem.
Apparently, as TiTi raced through the door to the kibbles, the door closed on TiTi's tail and "gloved' it. The result was that 3 inches of tail were "gloved". The first inch of tail only lost fur, the second inch lost both fur and skin, and as the door finally snapped shut, the 3rd inch was amputated. Very logical progression. Poor TiTi. Gluttony."

Poor TiTi!!!! I am so sorry to hear that she and you had to go through this. Hope she will heal perfectly. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

She's looking good. I'm able, now, to pet her to the end of her tail, and she quite likes it. I am careful as I get to the last 2 inches, and it is odd to feel a bony structure on that last inch; I still expect fur. I was concerned about spinal injuries as well as an infection. However, it seems that she can lose her whole tail without damaging her spine. The cat's tail and backbone are distinct entities. Whew. Felt so badly for her.

Can you watch her for a while tonight? Hopefully she'll just have a nice, flat, green surf. But this is TiTi we're talking about, so....

yes...TiTi...
Watching like a hawk. Not at all responsible to shoot a 90 at PMPS unless I watch her. Hopefully she'll resolve before+6. Last night I had to wait that long, and I was shooting a higher number:arghh:. Right now she's experimenting with dropping like a stone:eek::eek:.
