Taffy appy back, small midnight and 4am snacks. Need to start using the feeder again!

Got down to 99 last night, but back to pink at AMPS. See where we go today.

Civ Baby is not feeling well now. He looked "off" to me for a day or two. Probably his panc, plus the firework extravganza in our barrio last night stressed him more. Vomit this morning.

I gave both kitties Cerenia this morning. Good times. Taffy did ok. Baby managed to spit it out about 7 times. I am not even sure he got it, but I think so. I miss my CRF boy (Meow Meow (GA)). He was so easy to pill and he made me think I was a pro!!! Taffy & Baby are proving that is not the case!

Happy new year Julie!

Taffy please come down off the trampoline.

:bighug:Sending vines to Baby.
Happy New Year!!!

Poor Baby Kitty...I feel so awful, like I was torturing him. He is my sweet little soul kitty, so gentle and sweet. I am going to have to find a method that works for pilling him, because I think that it will be a regular thing with his panc nowadays.

Argh Julie! Yay for Taffys appy but argh on Babys stomach issues..you are getting slammed coming and going right now...:bighug::bighug:
Do you have gelcaps? I bought a ton on Amazon of the little ones, 5s and 4s. Also do you have a pill shooter? The one that looks like a long plunger works best for me. I've got plenty of all of the above if you need some, happy to share..
Happy New Year....
ETA this is the one I use ( well mine are blue but red is way cooler)

Were Uncle and Taffy separated at birth? Uncle AMPS 303.
Sorry to hear about Baby. You could use a worry break right about now.
Fireworks (and gunshots) not that bad for us up here last night. I think the colder-than-usual temps kept the reveling to a minimum. Uncle woke me up crying for food at 4:3o am. I got up only to find beautiful, gentle snow falling outside.

I have #3 gel caps, and I put the pills in those, but Baby held it in his mouth and spit it out until the gel cap dissolved, pretty much. I may take you up on trying the smaller. I also have a plunger piller, but it is not like the ones in pic and it does not work well.

Great news on today's appy. :joyful::joyful: Think blue Taffy.

The Buster pill gun is my favorite. It has a shorter shaft than the one Leslie uses so I found it easier to "shoot", less reach. As a bonus, you can load it with water before hand, so you can pop the gel cap and water chaser in one go. :) A couple of days ago I had to pill my civie who was being stubborn about his prednisilone. First time ever pilling him and got a hole in one, in spite of my sprained wrist. :woot: I also find the smaller the gel caps, the easier to get them to swallow.

Still running high all day. Ate several small meals of raw with a few kibbles on top as incentive. Reducing the kibbles each time. But still getting pinks.
Does this seem to be a bounce still?
Should I still hold the dose at 1.25 or increase?
+11 = 302

OK. So, for example, hold dose tonight...but if he doesn't get down to greens? or blues? tonight, then increase AM dose? Just asking bcuz it is hard to get people in the morns sometimes. If he get to blues only, should I still increase in AM?

I think this is a new bounce from the green numbers last night. He could've gone lower than 99 - we know he got at least that low.

I'm ambiguous - if he were mine, I think I'd wait for this bounce to clear and see how low he gets. However, if you're going to be around and you want, I also think it's possible to call this a failed reduction, which means going right back to the "last good dose" immediately. You don't have to wait a certain number of cycles to call a failed reduction.

  • If an attempted reduction fails, go right back up to the last good dose as soon as you see kitty's numbers trending upwards. You don't have to hold the reduced dose for a certain number of cycles before taking the dose right back up. The guidelines listed under the topic "Increasing the dose" do not apply to a failed reduction. Please use common sense in this situation. The "last good dose" is not the dose that just dropped kitty into the 20s or 30s. You want to resume momentum by finding a dose in-between the dose that dropped kitty too low and the reduced dose.

Got it. But how do I know when it is a bounce or numbers trending upward? You have to watch a few cycles, at least, right?

So far tonight, he is having almost identical #s to the AM cycle.
