Good morning!
Question of the day: Why is Boomer going up 3 hours after his shot? This has happened 3 of the last 4 cycles.
I'm totally afraid to test him this morning thanks to the 110 he presented me with at +3 last night:nailbiting:
sigh. Ok it's time....

AMPS 104 shooting .1u

Well at least he didn't go up from last night's +3

I've been tracking his foods for the last fews days but there really doesn't seem to be any correlation between his foods and his high/low numbers. They've all be low carb of course with the highest one being only 4.02%. I think part (or maybe all) of the problem is this micro dose and the syringes I have....the top line is not level on a lot of them so at the one end of the line the dose looks good and at the other end of the line the plunger is touching the line. (Note to self must contact manufacturer and complain).

On another topic, my hunt for a snowy owl yesterday resulted in nothing! We drove around the areas where we've seen them before or where others have seen them. Of course they have excellent camouflage and if the pure white male was sitting in the snow it would be very difficult to spot him. Will try again sometime soon.

Oh come on Boomer! Stop messing with momma bean. It's time to get back into the all green business.

I don't know if calipers would help with measuring that small of a dose, but I really love using them. The lines being inconsistent on the syringes is just maddening. I am using the monoject ones now and I find they are a lot more consistent that the BD ones were, but occasionally I still notice the lines are the same.

!!!! Finally someone mentioned the same problem! Fluffy's obviously not on microdosing, but I used the ReliOn syringes and for the most part they seem okay, only once in a blue moon do I get a lopsided plunger  I still have trouble with some very tiny bubbles, but hopefully it's negligent...)

There really needs to be a syringe for microdosing, although there probable isn't much of a market for it :(

YAY FOR BOOMER!!!! Such enviable numbers <3 Be good to mommy!

All and all Boomer still looks good. Many times I comment on those micro doses and not knowing how you all do it. Playing devils advocate here...is it possible you're seeing a slight inverted curve? It's such a small variance that it's hard to tell. Sorry for not being much help.

My last order of syringes were in April and bought 1000 of them. They are all the same lot number and see very little variance in the lines luckily. Of course I always have bubble trouble and at Doodles dose it is what it is.

I would love to see a Snowy Owl so hope you go out searching again soon!

I have to use calipers because of too much variance with the markings on my relion syringes. But, I must say this last box has proven to be exactly spot on.

His blue numbers might have to do more with carbs of different foods if he is that carb sensitive as Bubba is or just the +20% variance in the meter. I got a blue last night at +3 but that's food influenced and I only get bummed with the Pre Shot ones because it messes up the 7 day green count.

For giggles, why don't you get a +11 tomorrow AM and see where he is.

Meter variance...too much or not enough juice. Big help I am right  I'd just stay the course and see how he does the next few days.
Sometimes I think he needs an increase but he's definitely not getting that now with the holidays so close. And sometimes I think that I should decrease.....it would be down to "some" insulin which I think would be more consistent than what he is getting now. Oh well, status quo for the next few days.

I go back and forth thinking the same thing.

i think you are just worried your bean will pay more attn to the owls Boomer... its ok to be all green you know you have permission lol.... i cant tell you why he is hitting blues at +3 but i know you did so much research into his fuds and monitor it all so well that its not you... hope you are able to go on another snowy owl search soon :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I think it's mostly the darn syringes that aren't accurately marked. And it seems that the +3 stops the insulin from working. Today I decided to give him just a snack at +3 instead of a meal but then when he gave me the 61 and we had errands to run I ended up topping him up to a meal. I may also try moving the +3 to a bit later (if he'll let me) so that the insulin has a wee bit more time to work before food stops it.

PMPS 110  shooting .1u
Tomorrow since I will be at home with Boomer, I will try giving a smaller +3; a snack instead of a meal, with the hope of extending the effect of the shot.

Fingers crossed that he will head right back to the lagoon. Looks like he managed to pull off a perfect cycle this morning - so we all know he can do it.
