No real changes in my poor boy. Still food in the bowl at +5, at least he ate a good portion of it. He still wants to be around, but lays down and just looks sad. A friend brought over a candy cane catnip toy and he barely sniffed it. Hopefully will hear back tomorrow on the bloodwork and it is just a little p'titis. I'm glad we included the specfPl test. Will bring up it being a painful condition and ask about possibly getting a small amount of bupe, gabapentin or tramadol to try.

@Bobbie And Bubba
He gets 3mg of zobaline once a day, I can't find anything on it helping joints, just the nerves that cause the neuropathy. I wonder if upping it to x2 a day might be a good idea while his numbers are higher.

The rubber ring on his bowl finally broke... The same bowl I got for him 12 years ago from the shelter. My mission is to find a ring that fits it and keep using the same bowl, something nostalgic about it.

Hope Jack feels better soon and gets back to fighting the feeder. Waiting for blood work results is painful. Lots of vines and prayers for you buddy.

Sending feel better vines to Jack. :bighug:
Colin has neuropathy but still gets around pretty good although he uses the cat stairs to get up on the bed and sofa. I give him Zobaline in the AM, and 'Doctors Best' Methyl B12 in the PM.

At least he is still showing interest in food, still trying to figure out how to convince the doctor with a logical argument for at least a small trial of some pain meds to see if it helps him.

I give him Zobaline in the AM, and 'Doctors Best' Methyl B12 in the PM.
Any particular reason you use 2 different ones? Are you giving Colin 6mg per day?

I imagine it's because Drs Best is so much cheaper. My experience with it wasn't good though. We used it for Purrdy's neuropathy for a couple of months with zero results but saw improvements within weeks when we swapped to Zobaline.

I would try not to get liquid tramadol for pain meds. It tastes disgusting. For many cats it causes instant frothing and they end up spitting it all out again anyway.

Sending many vines for Jack - c'mon boy, I'm very naughtily rooting for you against the food bowl...

Cost. The Doctors Best is cheap! I just started doing this, so I don't know if it helps or not. It doesn't have the Folic Acid that Zobaline has, which helps with absorption. I figured for the price, I'd give it a shot as I was considering doubling up on the Zobaline too. I'm just giving him 1 pill, but I think it should be 2.
