Hello L& L beans!
Started last night with his new supplements in his food he ate it all with no trouble at all.
Gave Fritz all that stuff in his food this morning, what a trooper he ate every bit of it. To me it seems strange to give all that at one meal. He still needs his SEB and enzymes so I reserved just enough to give him a mid day snack of raw food with it in there. I tried to explain that FD kitties need to eat smaller meals for frequently she said that was if he didn't have the Metabolic disease.
She did complement me on my managing his diabetes. So LADIES that complement also goes to all of you!!!!!!
Somewhere on one of the posts I saw where they made the bone marrow soup, if anyone knows I'd like to see the recipe.

Surf safe kitties!

I would not give garlic to a cat. What kind of metabolic disease and how did she diagnose it? This vet is a homeopathic vet? There is a difference between homeopathic and holistic vets.

Like Wendy said yesterday, when you decrease food, you have to do it slowly. You don't want him dropping more than 1-2% of his current weight a week. Here is Dr. Lisa's discussion on safe weight loss. If you don't have a cat scale, it's good to invest in one....crucial, I think.

I've made that bone broth recipe and didn't find it to stink. One thing you need to remember about bone broth is, while it is excellent, it will cause the serum phosphorus levels to increase. It's probably not a huge deal in healthy cats with no renal issues but it's something to remember. I also question whether it is ok to give to carry him over from getting less food. It is nutritious and great for intestinal inflammation. I'm also curious about all that fat to be added to his diet. Cats do need fat but if they are eating a raw diet and you are using meats with fat, they don't usually need more added....esp if they are overweight. I'm not saying she's wrong, I'm just very curious about it because I've never heard that from a feline nutritionist or vet.

Since I don't know what kind of metabolic disease he has or how she diagnosed it, I'm not sure about all those supplements. SP Drenamin is for adrenal issues. How did she test his adrenals? NRT? Energy testing? I don't think the Drenamin will be harmful but whether it is what he needs, I don't know.

I did not find the bone broth to stink either. It made a lot and I froze some in smaller containers to be able to pull out again if sickness occurs. Good luck with the new regime and I hope it all helps.

How did she discover he had a metabolic disease? Was it BW?

Hoping the new plan works out, the most exciting part for me was reading how you were able to ease his breathing with the breastbone massage!:bighug::):cat::bighug:
