Good morning everybody,

My plan to Monitor Small Kitty last night in order to be sure he was save before
bringing him to the Vet office for dental yesterday had to be changed fast.
I realized a guy in close touch with the manager eared me talk to the vet on
hypos and stuff... He seemed to be interested but just at the wrong time. If I had called
sick tomorrow my epilepsy cover up would have been blown up... Had to think fast
on what to do.

So on arrival home, as soon that I realized that Small Kitty was back up from another
bounce give food and shot and withdraw. I Took a piece of hard paper with very large
and bold pen and wrote down the name of the medication that were no go. Wrote
down medications, doses, food, GL test... Put everything with meter pack, food and
instruction and threw everything in lunch box and made everything ready to go.
Small Kitty must have smell his vet carry on sport bag as he ran away scraping
the floor and hide. Told him I'm sorry and put him on the towel at the bottom and
there we went direction vet office bay cab.

I've been taken with good consideration when I explained the way I would like Small Kitty
to be treated. While at it I asked the regular vaccine be administered and a microchip
be installed (required on cats in Montreal for tracking purpose). They wrote down
everything. The only thing I did not remember was the name of the pain med :banghead::banghead:
When I told the technician it was ''injectable'' she was confused. This was not what
I wanted to say, was looking on how to explain the pen spitting liquid but could not
find the word. She wrote down ''injection'', guess they will find something.

There was no big difference last night. For quite some time Small Kitty is doing his
own business and do not jump on the bed as he used to do, Big Brother does it.
Hope everything will go smoothly with as little teeth removed as possible.

Thanks for helping in making sure everything was to go well !!! :bighug:

It is always so hard to leave our kitties at the vet. Times like this it would be wonderful to be able to tell them what and why we are doing this.

Sending lots of prayers and positive energy for a smooth dental ( for both of you) and a quick recovery.

Ah, poor SK in jail. Hoping all goes well and you'll have him home ASAP.

The pain med you want to stay away from in called Metacam . And the antibiotic to stay away from is Convenia ( that is injectable at the vets office and last for 14 days) It might be worth a call to the vet and make sure these two drugs not to give to SK

Keep us posted on SK

Poor BK. :( We all hate to leave them.

When Gizmo had to stay (with the pancreatitis) I would take a bath towels that I had used after a shower and put in his cell :D. That way he had my smell with him. IDK if it helped him or not but it made me feel better.

Yeah, told them this in bold and they wrote the name of the meds on the job bond. Next thing
to sort out is food at 6pm with shot. I'll tell them that a full day without insulin could end up in dka.
They have the food bud no Lantus and I forgot to tell them to dilute the food... As I was suppose to
be sick I didn't brought the insulin...

Wasn't a big deal for me, just a maintenance job to get him back in better shape.
What was strange is to be concern free once back at home. Being back in this mood
would be quite a relief. Hide it or not Small Kitty is sort of a constant stress.

Awe...Sending tons of good dental vines for Small Kitty!!

I was a nervous wreck when I took Osha in for her dental and I had a good cry in the car when I dropped her off.

You are in good company with the constant stress. I probably think about Osha and FD more than I think about anything else. Thank heavens we are all here to support one another!

The pain med your looking for is Buprenorphine. It can be injectable or given orally by squirting in cheek of mouth.

Be careful as the injectable is not to be given by mouth and visa versa.

Prayers for good dental and that SK is released soon.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Back home from the vet office, was told everything went well and no pain med
nor antibiotic were needed :confused: during the ''operation'' nor after....
They kind a told me that the teeth removed were loose and didn't need force
to come out and there was no infection... Would not have paid 120$ for
intravenous fluid if had known that. (He had just been disconnected when I
arrived).

He was very stone when I got to his cell, took me some time but I was able
to feed him a little so I could give his shot. (Didn't want a full NS day).
He was so stone that he didn't react when introduced to my father's dog
(my father always carry his little dog with him).

Small Kitty is now up to date in regards of vaccines (4) for cat that can go out
+micro chipped in registered in case he got lost. (if you find him his serial
number is 740862) the the 3 teeth that had the potential of being loose or carry
infection were removed.

He seems to be kind of fine and slowly getting out of the vap.

Eat a little Small Kitty, please, just a bit :

(Little more interested but not that much...)

:)

So he's now in the roof, will see in the next few days if there is
a change...

Time to go sleep now, it's not that late but I'm tired.

Good night everyone !

Sébastien

Sebastien, I am so glad that it is over for your and SK and he will calm down and start eating. Sometimes after the anesthesia that aren't interested in too much other than sleepy. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Yay! Small Kitty is home! Love the pic with you holding him!! :cat::cat:

Rest up tonight both of you. :bighug::bighug:

So happy to hear that this dental is behind you now Sebastien!:bighug: You are an amazing Bean, especially having to change the plans at the last minute! Yikes!
Love the pictures, even if you can tell SK does not like being behind bars one bit!;)
Sending feel fabulous soon vines to SK and relief vines to you Sebastien!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am so glad today's dental is done and SK is home. Give him lots of scritches and cuddles from me. You may not see immediate changes in SK's numbers. If there is inflammation from extractions, it can take a while to go away, and numbers may even go up for a while. For Neko, it was about 10 days.

Sebastian

Good to hear SK's dental went well and was not too involved. Sending get well soon energy for SK and :bighug::bighug: for you.
