Doodles 12/18 Took Doodles back up to 4.5u this morning and hope to see more blue and less pink soon. His appy continues in the mid range and the LB deposits are less than normal so keeping an eye on that.

Christmas food shopping and getting some paperwork notarized is on the agenda for today.

Vines and prayers to all the kitties and beans.

Talking with dad's lawyer trying to get will finished. Dad is dragging his feet. If can't get my father in there by Friday, have to wait for after January. Then back to sanding since I got another sander. More dust.

What is on your menu?

I get to do two this year (oh, joy). I am thinking bake potatoes soup with a doctored caesar salad (everyone always wants this) for Christmas eve/day depending on when MIL and step son will be here. Then on the 30th MIL and BIL/SIL are coming to exchange gifts. I have no idea for that. Would love to do a prime rib roast in the char-broil but will have to see what hubby says since he would be cooking it o_O

That actually sounds very similar to a traditional German Christmas food: Kohlrouladen.

...I think I might finally do some holiday baking this week too. But I guess that would entail leaving the house to go shopping and I don't know if I am ready to brave the cold.

It sure does and the polish call it Golumpki. Think they all have slightly different taste/ingredients but basically it's all the same!

I'm to lazy to bake this year. All my stuff is Gluten Free and made from scratch. You'd never know it was GF though. We are all fat this year LOL and no one needs that stuff.

Halupki...yum! DH is Ukrainian and halupki is one of the items traditionally on the Christmas Eve menu. As a bonus, DH and I are vegan and Christmas Eve dinner has no animal products at all (tradition), so the halupki are stuffed with rice and mushrooms or buckwheat (my personal fave).

We're suppose to have only fish on Christmas Eve but I don't eat any fish including shrimp. Your vegan version sounds good but too bad I don't eat mushrooms and not a big fan of buckwheat....both are primarily a texture issue as I do like the flavor and smell.

Sounds like a busy day! Sounds like you'll have a very nice Christmas dinner. For years we have been catching a movie and go out for dinner.
DH keeps asking me to make a traditional Christmas dinner so maybe soon after Ill surprise him with a homemade dinner:p
 
I'm hungry now. It's just me and kitties this year. DH actually goes back to work on the 23rd and back home on the 27th. I might make a pot roast then. Then gone again for New Years.

The do have a fish course, but we don't partake. Never liked the fish, even before becoming vegan. Everything else is awesome, though...halupki, borscht with ooshka (no idea how to spell it!), several kinds of pierogies, and more...good stuff!!

We have it every year on Christmas Eve - and if we're lucky, we get some leftovers to take home! I'm Ukrainian by marriage (Italian by birth) - DH's Mom and sister do all the cooking. We've make pierogies a few times but it has been eons....they definitely a ton of work!
 
this condo just made me hungry lol... so close to dipping back in the blues Doodles.. come on try a paw in see if you like it... hope you were able to get all your running around Karen and get some time to yourself too :bighug::bighug:
 
Well, it's looks like the dose crease has helped so far!

And your agenda was as fun as mine. I was busy putting out fires all day, stuff that had been handled once and didn't go through or was screwed up by the establishment.........oy vey! It wasn't until 2 pm that I could sit down and make out some Christmas cards to far away family and friends.

Your menu sounds wonderful! I am hosting this year, only 7 of us. I am doing an appetizer, spiral ham, baked bean, and my in-laws are filling in the blanks . I also made a pumpkin pound cake and froze and peanut butter/chocolate fudge with sea salt and chocolate caramel "chips" both of which were stupid simple, fast and oh so good!
