jeez, did his insulin go bad??? I did leave it out overnight a few days ago, but I didn't worry, as I thought it was cold enough in the kitchen and not a big deal, as I have the Lantus pen and people travel with this. I also didn't note when it happened, bcuz I wasn't worried, and I think ths was before his last green reading, so I assumed all was fine with the insulin. We are picking up a new one this week anyhow, as that one is almost finished. I am so broke!

Other culprits are change from organic chicken to non-organic in my recent batch and different food completer mix in last few meals. This one has egg yolk, which I have always wondered if he has a sensitivity to. But again, his appetite was waning before this change. Ugh.

I can tell you from experience....it's almost never the insulin and always the cat  If he doesn't show you some more greens by tomorrow it may be time to bring his dose back up. (hopefully a slight doscrease threat will work;))

Ugh, I hope I don't have to do that (again). It would be the 2nd time at this dose that we have "failed"...

You had a decrease and a skip in there, Taffy could have just lost downward momentum. It's very common to have to go up and down again around a particular dose until they spend enough time in green to "get it". Last time he "failed" you had to go back up to 1.75 units for only a brief period of time. Sometimes they just need a kick in their furry pants with a bit more juice. It's also possible if his appy is off that he's some sort of inflammation (IBD, mild panc flair) which could raise the BG's.

We are very familiar with this.... having to go up 2-3 x before eI can catch that glucose toxicity:banghead:
Learning the patterns and when to ride it out or to increase is like playing chess!:bighug:

In that post I replied to you were trying to puzzle out what was making Taffys numbers so high....so I was sending support vines. He's doing better now from the more recent numbers he's getting so figure it's not the pen or the food...

Actually he stayed pretty much in the mid-200s all day so I did increase his dose tonight. And he is still being very picky in his appetite. I'm trying to stay calm about it. :nailbiting:
