Good morning and first and foremost gentle day and healing vines for those with visits, human dr visits, surgeries and for now GA Neko and her beloved beans.

Sootie at top of stairs again this morning...woo hoo! Her am Bg 115, initial fud interest iffy so Skipped shot again for the reasons of late.

Saw no signs of vomiting during night, no diarrhea in LB (one of the side effects of omazeprole, started last night...side effects listed: vomiting, diarrhea, "excessive wind," lethargy).

So syringed morning dose of omezaprole, the sugar free salmon flavor seeming to be acceptable. Sootie ate a bit more when I followed her into front room with fud dish, elevated it on books and was ok. Sometimes Sootie will look at food then to me, asking "ok?". When I blink/wink and bow my head to her, she says "ok" and then begins. Also I've taken to either or both a comb out and gentle massage of her neck and upper chest area. Kinda like running energy. Whether the esophagus hears "peristalsis, please and thank you" I don't know. But it is time that is special for both of us and contributes to her staying upright awhile longer after eating.

Azalea's eye looks better than it did on Tuesday. She didn't eat much yesterday but ate gangbusters this morning. Today she is really gunky from the perpetual on again off again mouth goo of still undetermined origin. Nothing so far seems to help for very long. She's had swab cultures, all negative. When she curls up she drools all over herself. Thinking may be time, in addition to the OV, to bring her to a specialist...hmmm...dental or internal medicine?

Holding all in LL with vines for healing and smooth gentle sailing days.

Glad to hear things are going well with Sootie today, and that Azalea's eye is better. Hopefully you can get to the bottom her mouth issue soon! With Trix, I have to hold the plate and rescoop/pile the food most of the time to get her to eat enough...a habit that started when she had a really bad case of pancreatitis a couple years ago - and it's a habit that stuck, even though it's been a long, long time since she recovered. I agree...these times with our furbabies are so special.

Prayers for all of you....

I'm glad Sootie was waiting for you and ate this morning. It's good to hear Azalea's eye looks better today. It sounds like her drooling could be a dental issue. I hope you all have a calm day today. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Amy and Carla.
Yep grateful for every moment. Remembering when Sootie was a teeny weeny one, she'd purr and sleep nestled along my neck but first had to make a "nest" of my hair to nestle in. Lots of tangles to comb out in the morning but wouldn't trade those times for anything.

Re azalea and her gooey mouth stinky breath: it started awhile after she recovered from what was described then as 'silent seizures.' What happens is her gums become inflamed, then recover, and so the cycle goes without rhyme or reason. We've tried a/b's, alternating kinds so she won't become a/b resistant, periodic depomedrol injections, homeopathic remedies, herbal mouth rinses, -
Just gave Azalea a bath, she was quite obliging and I think happy for fur to be sweet as can be again. Even ate more after!

Sootie was very interested in the goings on, was waiting at azalea's door when I came out. DH's Sootie report is no nighttime vomiting, ate late night snack, no pudding poo, and actually quite sparky getting on and off bed this morning. I noticed earlier that she is walking with more oomph, hind quarters now level with front quarters.

Sweet report from your tribe Sina!!:bighug::bighug:
Thank you, Les. How's Gus this morning? And crossing paws for vetty visit.
P.s. Sure wish I could find a vet around here like yours who is both trad and homeopathic/alternative!

ETA: just read and replied to your morning condo that I had not yet seen. Yo Gus and Les, hope you are feeling less worried too❤️

I think I'd start with dental. Best to rule that out, then on to IM if indicated. I hope you can get to the bottom of it. I'm glad Azalea's eating, despite the icky mouth issue. YAY on her eye looking better! That's what I want to hear! :woot:

I'm even happier to read the eating/not vomiting report on Sootie!

This is wonderful news, and a testament to your awesome care of her. I stand in awe of you, Sina, and the lengths to which you go for your babies. :bighug:

My bad, replied to your previous condo..mea culpa!
So happy to hear things are calming down a bit, relatively speaking, in your world..sending more vines and hugs:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Tricia, appreciate your atta gal too but I'm not so sure I fully deserve it...yet! You all are the exemplars of hanging in there and helpful in more ways than I can ever describe and say thank you for. Without you all helping us through really complicated multiple issues and highs and lows with Sootie and civvies Azalea and Bo (GA)....hugs hearts and thank you's from us all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Re Azalea: I did forget to mention that she did end of having a dental in September. It was a while we're at it bc the only way to get a really good look at her mouth was with sedation. Her teeth were good, but she got a cleaning. Had some plaque but no cavities or chipped or loose teeth. No signs of tumors, lumps etc. only after the fact did the vet say they should have done a tissue sample while she was sedated.:banghead:
Inflamed gums but swab cultures neg and didn't think stomatitis.
So....these are among reasons thinking time for a specialist (we seem to be on a roll with specialists lately anyway!)..,ya think a dentist or internal med or another specialty? Homeopathic vet keeps saying that mouth issues usually stem from kidney/liver imbalance but we really haven't made consistent headway with what's he's suggested so far other than the herbal mouth rinse that helped for awhile and then not. Oh my.

Sootie was very sweet about her fluids and a/b around noontime and even ate a bit more. But I saw much sadness in her eyes this afternoon. She was so much a miss bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning. Oh dear oh dear..,

Good evening, Sootie's pm 124. eating some now, opting for dining quietude away from the two Horner in-ers: Bella and Dancer.

Now to check in on Azalea, bring her supper and do evening eye drops. And a brushing if she'll oblige to a fluffing up her of bathed self.;)

You might call a dentist and explain the situation and ask whether they think you should see them or someone else.

The specialists you've seen, have them been at Tufts? I see it's around an hour away from you.

Actually, I think it means she trusts you.:joyful:

Makes sense, Tricia. I'll ask around about a good vety dentist.

The Gi specialist Sootie and I met with on Monday is with a 24/7 emergency, hospital and integrative care group in Middletown. She did her vety studies at upenn and then tufts.
Azalea's OV is in Warwick RI.
Tufts is more like 2-3 hours from here depending on traffic, which doesn't seem like much considering distances some Beans travel for their kitties. But for me, driving is excruciating bc of my back and legs. If it comes to going to Tufts will do in a heartbeat, lousy back and all if would really help.

that's right, butt indicates trust! And that she lets me bathe her these days indicates trust big time too. It's an honor indeed❤️❤️❤️

Sciatica? I hear that. I'm dealing with it as well. UC Davis is about 35-40 minutes from here, and just that drive is miserable. Luckily, my Sciatica wasn't acting up with Sasha and Cinco were going through radiation therapy - had to do the drive twice a day!:blackeye:

If there are good specialists closer to home, then by all means go for it. I just had such a good experience with a Vet teaching hospital that I encourage everyone that can to take advantage of one. Tufts is supposed to be pretty good, from what I hear, too.

:bighug: I agree, Tricia, there's much to be said about good teaching hospitals.

Oh my, and glad your sciatica wasn't acting up when you doing marathon drives to and from UCDavis for and with Sasha and Cinco. You are amazing!

Ah, I empathize with your struggles with sciatica, which quite emphatically adds itself to the mix of my own spinal deteriorations with increasing frequency. So I hear ya!!!

Checked on Sootie a little while ago and to offer her a late night snack. No fud please she says. ❤️Let's cuddle instead. Absolutely yes yes yes ❤️

Hope your night gentle and sweet dreams too. Thanks again for all:bighug:❤️:bighug:

ETA: forgot to mention the crumbling knees! Always something.....
