Gentle vines to Wendy and her family who are prominently in my heart and thoughts this morning:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Woke up really early with Gussie curled up next to my head on the pillow..nice and toasty..drifted back to sleep only to be awakened to a BitO'Froth vomit shortly before the regular alarm sound.
AMBG 87:D
He ate well, mixed some SEB into everybody's food and since he made the round of the bowls I figure he got at least some into his stomach!;)
I think he is uncomfortable tho..he lays down gingerly as if he is uncomfortable and I haven't seen a substantial poop in awhile, just little bits. May try to get him in soon. He's still snuffly, was hoping that would clear up with the new Heater, vents and ducts. Air is definitely cleaner coming in!
Surf safely kitties, extra vines to all in our LL family and those we love and care for...:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Ah, hope Gussie feels better soon. Reminds me to ask DH when he last changed all our air filters. With this darn AZ desert dust they get dirty so fast. Hope you have a good day!

Thanks!
Yay I think I see in a LB present where some of his issues are stemming from! :p
Hoping this turns the queasy corner for him!;)
He's raiding the leftovers now which is his usual seek out food and actually eat +2 schedule so paws crossed he's gonna feel fine!:cat: He's over drinking lots of water tho which makes me nervous...:(

Just got word another board member is selling his unit, and then there were two..
We are supposed to be a 5 member board, we were down one slot for years, then three years ago another died so we were three and nobody will step up and serve, now we will be two....glad we are moving to a competent new management company..

Sending feel better vines for Gus! ...and I am getting my vents cleaned for the first time next week. I am trying everything I can think of to help my snorkely little Iris... and with four very hairy dogs, a heating vent cleaning is probably long overdue.

PMBG 87:D
Gussie is obviously uncomfortable, not sure if it's kidneys, pancreas, bowels...or just what the heck it is but he has an appointment at the vet tomorrow afternoon. He is still off his food and doing lots of lip licking whenever he resettles which he does gingerly. I've given him SEB today which seems to help but I'm still not liking that he's not eating, he has always been my reliable eater.

He does not look comfortable

hoping vetty appt tomorrow yields help and for Gussie to be feeling better. Not good for this grand orange fella to be not his wonderful Gussie self and his devoted mama bean worried.

Dear Gussie,
We are very glad you are in the surfin' greens but really worried that your appy is off and you're feelin' poorly. No fun whatsoever, even if SEB helps settle tummies. Might not be fun at the vets either but as my Sina bean sings to us during such trips:
"Over the river
and through the woods,
to the vet we go.
It won't take so very long,
and then back home
we go."
(Except that Monday when we went to the specialist at new vet place, she fit in 'let's hope it won't take too long... good try, mama bean! Seemed like rainy day almost sunrise to sunset was a little too long! )
Yours in hoping your visit tomorrow will be smooth sailing and back home in a flash!,:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Sina,
Yep something is not right. Tried three kinds of food, no go. Hoping he will eat something later on. His appointment is tomorrow afternoon @4, earliest I could do both because of work and because I want him seen by my homeo vet who he knows and who knows him. He does not look dehydrated which is good..
Guessing my plans to try to go be with family for the holiday will be put on the maybe next year burner...

What do I ask for for pain/anti nausea meds? The only one I am familiar with is metacam from years ago and I know that's a no no.
Bupropion and ???

Hi, the painkiller is Buprenorphine. And, Ondansetron--good for nausea, Cerenia--for vomiting & GI anti-inflammatory. I'm sure someone who knows the details, doses etc better than me will provide you with more info.
Hope Gussie starts feeling better!

My vet always recommends buproprion for pain and cerenia for inflammation. Sometimes she throws in some mirtazapine for both nausea and appetite stimulation. Various combos of these meds have never failed me. I've also used cypro and odenestron. I found them equally good.

Glad Gussie's going in tomorrow. He does not look happy, and a gourmand style cat who suddenly will not eat well is troublesome. Hugs and vines

Neko had buprenorphine for pain. For nausea either cerenia or ondansentron (Zofran). They work on different nausea receptors so sometimes one or the other or both are best. Cerenia is once a day, onda up to 3 times a day. Cypro and mirtz are appetite stimulants, but you don't want to give them unless nausea is addressed first.

Constipation can also cause him to feel uncomfortable. Have you tried pumpkin or mirilax? Make sure he's getting lots of fluid. Of course there is always http://www.felineconstipation.org/if you want to to more in that area of things. Marje's primer on pancreatitis in the Health Links forum is a good read on antinausea meds.

Sending lots of healing and good vetty vines for Gussie. :bighug:

Thank you Wendy and Kathy,
Will print this info, out and take it with me. So appreciate your taking the time to help Wendy:bighug::bighug:
I got him to eat some FF chicken classic just now with a good dose of miralax, hoping it helps. I have some pumpkin I'm going to try to get in him too, main thing tonite was getting some food onboard tho so I was trying not to get too crazy adding stuffo_O he turned down all of his sure fires.:(he was sitting up alert for a bit and did bathe his face so that's encouraging but still going to the vet, even if he poops and is fine in the morning..time for more post insulin blood work as the water consumption coupled with the now fairly frequent frothy vomit and iffy appetite are familiar symptoms from years ago with my GAs Buster and Jett I.:(

Sorry Gussie isn't feeling well. No appy is definitely a red flag with him! I'd ask the vet to test for Pancreatitis. Did you read Marje's primer on it? Lots of good info there.

I know how worried you are. Sending mega healing vines and good vetty vines for tomorrow.
Thanks Tricia,
Yes I'm pretty concerned as I picked him up and he felt really light. He was always @14-14.5 lbs and I'm sure he's lost quite a bit. I know they come down when they are regulated but to me he's running too thin. I did just get more FF in him so he's had almost a can tonight, so I feel a bit better. He's drinking water too, more than my comfort level is! Read the pancreatitis post, my GS Buster had a 'bout with that before his CRF diagnosis hence my double barreled worry...
He's feeling better with some food onboard, he's up and about sniffing everywhere civvie Lola rubbed earlier today..
Thanks again for the help and stopping in to check on us!:bighug::bighug:

Hoping Gus had better night and is feeling more himself today. Hand hoping you got some sleep
Hugs vines and ❤️ And :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:for good vetty visit too.
