Yesterday's condo

I managed to sleep through my alarm this morning - despite the fact that the boys let me get a good night's sleep. Needless to say, it's already been a bit hectic. Today is my last day of classes and final exams (followed by lots of grading) are coming up next week. Even though I am still going to be busy, I will be able to work from home - so today is the last day where I have to run back and forth multiple times.

Unfortunately, little Flora once again has diarrhea. I had noticed some loose stool a few days ago, but I thought that it was Mandarin (who also had a bit of an upset tummy after his pill pocket raid). However, I noticed Flora in the box this morning and she has liquid diarrhea. Since she probably ate some of the pill pockets too, it may still very well be the result from that. I have added a higher dose of probiotics to her food and hope that that will do the trick.

The boys are both doing well... Mandarin is starting a bit higher this morning, but I hope that he will be back in the lagoon soon... and that he will take his brother with him.
 
I think it's a lovely start for Mandarin and Walter's not bad either. Good to hear this is your last day of back and forth for a little while. Poor lil Flora, hope her tummy settles down soon and the probiotics help. FWIW back in the day when Doodles had his loose stool episodes I gave him SEB just for a day or two and it stopped it. I never gave the SEB regularly, only used it for treatment.

That's a good idea! My vet was leery of using it before because Flora was so little at the time and my vet had never used SEB in a tiny kitten. However, now that she is a healthy teenager, I don't think that's a concern anymore. Could you remind me of the dosage?
 
Nice start for Mandarin. That's not a bad start for Walter. I hope they both slide down and surf for you. Sending prayers for Flora. Poor little girl.

I gave Doodles a 1/4 tsp twice a day for a few days. I'd probably go with an 1/8 for her...starting with once a day and increasing to twice a day if needed.

Sorry about the diarrhea and Flora. Hope that it stops ASAP and the SEB helps or even try some florastor. I too, only used the SEB as needed and went a few more days after the diarrhea stopped. Those pill pockets have corn syrup in them and corn gives both my boys diarrhea. I just found the no grain ones for dogs for capsules so they are huge and I can cut them up and stretch them. ;)

Glad you will be home after today! I know that will alleviate some stress off of you not running as much.
 
I'll start her on SEB tonight - I still have some at home, I'm pretty sure.

I should look for those - I did use the dog version (because they were cheaper), but not the grain-free one. Flora has never had an issue with them, but she usually only gets half a pill pocket when she's on meds, not half a bag. :rolleyes:

Very happy about Walt's drop... and, once again, happy I ran home to feed a snack. One more class this afternoon and and I am done teaching for the semester!

Walt's cycle didn't end as well as it started, unfortunately. :(

....and my schedule is wide open after I turn in my final grades - let's definitely plan on getting together then.
