Good morning all,

Couldn't believe Sootie's ambg after all she's been through and the long yesterday full of long drive to and from the specialist, tests and the endoscopy.

Looks like she ate more during night (night owl DH didn't leave notes:facepalm:). She did eat a little bit this morning, but was a bit agita by others' presence near her and food. So we're doing the upright feeding in solitary. Her breathing seemed much better at rest on my lap but when she started walking about very definitely wheezing.

Much to sort through....once my head on a little more clearly today....would like to run by you supplement ideas etc and ask suggestions...

Won't know the biopsy results for a few days but in meantime need to get back on track with supplements to support, heal and the peripheral neuropathy...and ways to get these in her without vomiting etc. a delicate dance here for sure.

Azalea's weekly recheck this afternoon. It'll be interesting...

Hugs love and thanks from us all,
Sina

Sending many prayers. I hope you get good test results back and can find something to help Sootie. I hope Azalea's eye is still healing. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug:❤️❤️❤️:bighug::bighug::bighug:Thank you, Carla. I hope so too.

Just home from getting groceries and more baby food and about to check on the upstairs crowd and bring Sootie a noontime snack.

Azalea's weekly reg vetty recheck and fluids is this afternoon. She's taken to curling herself up in her carrier almost all the time. Her eye looks same as when last week OV said it was looking pretty good. But her mouth is a drooly stinky mess again. And when she curls up, she drools on herself. Needs a bath but I just don't have the oomph for it today...maybe tonight after she's forgiven me for taking her to the vet.;)

I am in such awe of all that you do for your babies. I hope the vet today proves some good news and keeping fingers and paws crossed that the biopsy will be good on Sootie. Meantime, sending you bunches of hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good idea. You can wash off that nasty, vetty smell that upsets the other kitties, too.;) Sending good vetty vines. I hope the OV says the eye looks even better!

Sending more safe eating vines for sweet Sootie. I gave a lot of Standard Process vines to Minka in her last year or so, at the urging of her acupuncture vet. I can't say that any of them helped her. The only thing I am familiar with for neuropathy is Zobaline, which worked miracles with Cinco. I believe there are some here who have had success with other products, but I don't recall anyone saying they used something from SP. Perhaps you'll get some good feedback when you have a chance to post your questions.

Good morning on this...oh gosh what day is today? Oh yes Wednesday...this week a jumble and ❤️ 's for Wendy and Neko❤️:rb_icon:

Yesterday fell behind after visit with Azalea to vet. Azalea's eye, to him, looks worse, he thinks it's looking rupture-like. It's about the same as when OV saw her last week. o_O:banghead:

Then he said, "I'm so sorry to hear the bad news about Sootie." I lost it, tho contained expressing my frustrations and anger about it all, at him and at me, and all these weeks of Sootie suffering when I tried everything I could alternative-wise bc he wouldn't tx anti nausea or antacids.

On a cheerier note, Sootie's been eating better, no vomiting lately and seems to be recovering from Monday'a marathon at the specialist. On pins and needles and crossing paws for benign biopsy results.

Hugs and hearts and grateful thanks for you all,
Sina

So glad to hear Sootie is eating, that's a nice ray of sun!:cat::bighug::bighug:
If this is the first time you've lost it during all this I'm quite impressed!;):bighug:
Sending mega vines and light your way....
Hoping they will gently wrap protective tendrils around you and yours:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Les, certainly not the first time I've lost it, plenty of times in car or at home, all the while trying not to distress anyone. but this is first time since Bo that I've come to tears at vet. We've been going to him over 15 years now and been through both the joy of miracles and the depths of loss before. But this time I was also... angry. It jolted my precarious effort for equilibrium with everything. he meant well, I know, but there was something about it, that this time, was it ...presumption of too final too early, his inability at the moment to apologize for being wrong in his DX's and approach in her care based on those diagnoses? ..that ripped through my being.

I'm glad Sootie is eating better and not vomiting. Sending prayers for you, Sootie and Azalea. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Glad here too. She's resumed sunbeam time too and we're cherishing every moment (even though she'll have to have her fluids soon)..❤️❤️❤️

I, too, am surprised you have contained yourself so well. I know the strain of having all those emotions roiling inside you, and caring for two sick kitties, worrying, waiting for results, searching for solutions. It's a wonder we don't just explode when we try to hold all that in. Vent here all you want, by the way - it's a great outlet and we understand!

I'm delighted to hear that Sootie is eating and holding it down (anti-jinx). Sending loads of vines that she continues to do so.

It's disappointing to hear that the vet thought Azalea's eye looks worse. Didn't the OV think it looked good? I am hoping for the latter to be the true state of affairs.

Thanks Tricia and intended to reply to yours about supplements right away..
yes I've had mixed responses to the standard process, the mixed-ness being mostly that whichever cat whatever the remedy intended for rejects either when feels it's done its job or the sp choice wasn't quite in tune with balancing support needed.

Sootie however has been the biggest fan of sp support through the years, going through spells where she would eat them like candy if left to her own devices. Some of the products recently suggested by homeopathic vet haven't been received well...the lact-enz probiotic (that unfortunately includes malto-dextrin so I put that aside) and the cataplex-b (a more complex liver and b vit support I think). Nobody would eat it. Been trying the jarrow probiotic, a little bit at a time and that one seems to be accepted by all.
Had backed off the food fur life home cooked , bc at the time it seemed to be too much for Sootie and her vomiting. And was almost at the stage of reducing protein cooking time in effort to gradually transition to raw. I keep feeling that need to get back to home prepared but also feel that need fir Sootie to feel better and digestive system on the mend. Right now she's ok with a/d and as few as possible additional supplements at a time (and always slippery elm in there with extra water). A/d awful stuff but it's high calorie and what's been riding us through lately.

I love zobaline but the cats poopoo'd it in fud, even crumbled. Grrr. Bo (GA) liked it though! So in reintroducing it, obviously will have to crush, dilute and syringe or crush and add as powder with whatever will get it gobbled up. Or come up with preparing own andbin rift ratios. I did find a liquid b12/folic acid but darn the tiny print (I guess time for magnifying glass in my handbag at all times) : it had stevia and Jerusalem artichoke as ingredients.

I've been wondering too about the dosage amounts for L-lysine and in combo with the above and or other nutritional supports. I know I've read here either amidst many super suggestions...it's just me needing to pull it all together and reread too.

I'm thinking too that as you, Les, and others have suggested, premix and put in tiny gelcaps. Even if Sootie might not be able to ingest a gelcap Itll be easier to sprinkle pre measured combos. Or dilute in water and syringe. You all are miracle workers, masters/mistresses of

Thanking for all and for kitties and their Beans all to have smooooooth day❤️

Sina, we had a member here that is a chemist and made food for his cat, as well as concocting supplements. He might have some suggestions for you. I'll tag him, @Dan & Alley and see if he'd be willing to help you out. He's a great guy and got his kitty OTJ through his hard work. He's pretty funny, too!

I couldn't get Minka to eat the SP tablets, either by themselves or in food, so I crushed them and put them in gelcaps. It was a lot of work, as some were pretty hard, but it was the only way to get them into her. I know that's not an option for Sootie, though.

Sending lots of vines, general purpose ones to be used where needed.
