Well here it is afternoon and I'm just now getting here!
Gotta get my squint on this morning..
AMBG 100:confused:
I know his numbers have dropped tho because he's seeking out food..
Yesterday and last nite we had fierce winds and at 9:30 pm a huge Bartley Pear tree went down between two building rows blocking the entire walkway. Couldn't get any help last nite so right after testing Gussie shortly before 7am I hit the phones to round up help. Had to juggle the old and the new management companies to,try to get help. The new co came thru...
Then, the tenant in the unit we were making accessible as in clearing a giant tree from out front her unit, refused to let us use her power to run the sawzall!!! She wants reimbursement, AND she had the audacity to demand we put a big tree back in immediately to shade the front of her unit!! If a tree is going back in where there never should have been a tree in the first place, it will be a 1 gallon baby tree unless they sell a seedling...;)Here we were up as early as could be, trying to make sure she was not trapped and getting things fixed as fast as humanly possible, and she never even bothered lifting a finger to call it in, or help..And she was being as awful as she could be!! Not a single thank you crossed her lips..
Amazing....she has always been a nasty sort but this took the cake..and standing out there making sure everything went well, helping drag branches too I might add, I got an earful about how awful everything is from others who had to lookie loo....but nobody wants to actually help and step up to fill those empty board positions.....
Sorry, frustrating start to my day!

I'm just contrary enough to remember this for a very long time.....need to explore trees as long as it takes to make just the right decision as to what to put in there.....migh take kind of a very long time:bookworm::bookworm::bookworm:o_O

Nice numbers Gussie!

Ugh, I feel your pain with the rental property thing We have some rental properties also and every now and then we get someone as unreasonable as yours with using their power. OMG! My husband has a landscaping business and he always says that Bartlett pears are so pretty but they are the first ones down in a strong wind. They have weak crotches and often get split down the middle IF they don't get uprooted. Maybe replace it with something more hearty unless you think this was a fluke.

I would recommend an ornamental maple tree - it'll stay tiny and it creates a giant mess several times a year (well, unless the renter isn't the one that's responsible for raking). ;)

I have three of those up front. They really are pretty - but they also tend to hang on to their leaves for a long time. Mine are still almost full of bright red and yellow leaves and we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I really hope none of the branches will break.... but at least that shouldn't be a problem in California.

Christmas is at our doorstep, promise her she will get her tree back before the end of the
month... After the holidays are over you could pay someone in deep need for money to
walk around and gather all Christmas trees thrown into garbage. All you would need
then is put everything into a huge pile up in front of her house. :):)

Need other nasty tricks ? Drop me a line, will find something for you ;)

Nice Surf Gussie, no more blue please

Interesting, this one just blew clean over all in one piece..the roots were pretty much paper it seems..it's a shame as it was a gorgeous old big tree, but it couldn't take the gusts that came thru the tunnel created between the two building lines and over it went. You know you would think they would be grateful it was being cleared well before breakfast ( well I sure didn't get any because I was on the phone tracking down help before I was even up or dressed.) it's ok, Karma will get her in the end and perhaps with a bit of an assist..

It will be fun sending her a check for $.98!
