Good morning. It is finally Friday!!

Blue is such a lovely way to start the day! I hope she surfs safely while I am at work.

Mom update: We had the consultation with the other doctor yesterday and she went and got an MRI. She will be getting kyphoplasty done on her spine next Thursday. He will basically insert a needle into the bone and use a balloon to restore the height of the vertebrae and then inject some bone cement into the balloon area. He said she should feel much better after this. I am nervous, but hopeful.

Have a good day everyone. Sending love and healing vines to Karen and Doodlebug

Amanda and Kitty Osha, The Empress

Nice start for Osha today. I hope she keeps surfing safely. That sounds promising for your mom. Sending prayers. :bighug:

That's far enough Miss Osha. She's looking good and hopefully has her surf board ready today. It's amazing what the doctors can do that's minimally invasive. Sure hope it gives your mom the relief she needs. Thanks for thinking of us Amanda. :bighug::bighug:

Osha surf safe
Amanda hope that helps your mom to get out of pain....:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hope your doing ok I know how hard it is to be a caregiver:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I see Osha in the lagoon! Surf sweet girl. :D

Sending lots of vines your mom's way for the procedure next Thursday. Spine stuff is scary but sounds like without it her QOL is not good.

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope that Osha was surfing safely while you were at work. :D

....and piling on more vines for your mom. I hope that the procedure will help restore her mobility and alleviate her pain.

Thanks everyone. Thankfully my mom was awake today and she was able to test and feed Osha for me. She gave her extra food at +5 and +5.5. So...Osha had LC FF at AMPS +2. +3, +4, +5 and +5.5 this morning to keep her surfing. I am sure without that extra food she would have visited the sharks. This dance is so scary at times.

She had a low pmps (for her) tonight and I switched to the Raw Darwins Duck tonight. I guess we will see how she does. I don't want to reduce her because she hasn't done well with reductions, but I can't have her surfing that low when I need to work. I guess tonight is a good night to see if the raw affects her numbers. The duck is slightly higher carb than the raw chicken I tried before.

Boy this dance confuses me and I never know what I should do.

Oh, OT: One of my students had lice today so now I am all of a sudden itchy. I know it's my brain playing mind games with me, but sheesh!!! I can NOT get lice!!!

Whew - what a day for little Osha - empress of the green forest is back!!!
Amanda - so happy for the news about your Mom. I have every confidence this will work!!:bighug::bighug:

Oh man..sending mega away bugs!!!!, away!!! Vines your way...I had a student who I transported regularly in my car who casually announced at the end of the lesson that she had scabies!!:nailbiting::eek::eek:
Shudder I so feel for you :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Vines for your mom and how exciting that she can test and feed the curve with OSHA!! That has to be a help!
Go Empress! :D

You just made me itch too! Another reason why Teachers are saints in my book ;) Slow down and surf now Osha:D:D

+3 49 :banghead::banghead::banghead:

What do I do with her dose for the morning??? It is the weekend...I can monitor and have all supplies. She hasn't held reductions in recent past.

I think you need to wait and see what Osha does tonight. If she keeps dropping and hits the 30s, that is an automatic reduction. If you can get her up easily and she surfs safely tonight, you could hold the dose tomorrow morning and wait for 3 drops under 50 before taking the reduction.

I hope she slows down and surfs for you tonight. :bighug:

Thanks Carla. I hope she comes up easily. I hate this drop so early in the cycle. I don't want to reduce. Each time she has forced me, the reduction fails and we go up higher than before.

Osha what are you doing to your poor bean??? Come on back to the safe side and stay there a while... Amanda these numbers freak me out so i can only imagine what they keep doing to you... sending hugs and prayers for lifted numbers into safety and may you find some rest in there too! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks. They absolutely freak me out too! I just want a dose that keeps her out of the pinks and the light green. We've been doing this dance a little over 6 months and I've never found a "good dose" for her.

Ah Oshas mama, she is keeping you on your toes...hmmm I have a strong sense of DeJaVu! ;)
Seems she has decided to put you thru your paces again and work that juice as only she can! :D:D:woot:
Good thing you are seasoned!! :bighug:
Hang on Amanda looks like OSHA has found her greased rails!:bighug::bighug:

Come on up little Empress! That's green enough. :D:eek:

So, I've been doing this for almost 5 years - still waiting to find that ONE dose. It's more like, dose of the week. Cats like to keep things interesting.

Wow! 5 years! That is AMAZING!

I don't know what I would have done if all you veterans weren't here!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

And my math sucks right now...it's just a drop in the hat, but it's been 7 months. 7 extra months that she wouldn't have been here without my mom's financial and emotional support and without the knowledge and love from all of you here.

My mom has cried many times over the last few weeks about all of you here. (a good cry) She wants to make a post and thank you all, but has trouble even texting at the moment, so look for a message from her soon from my account to all of you.

I would reduce tomorrow. She needs to be safe while you are at work. come on back up Osha. 40 is usually the immediate reduction number.

Ug! I just hate it. She never does well with reductions. :banghead::banghead:
It's up to you. Maybe that is why the suggestion for under 30 was? How about if you don't reduce a whole .25 units but 1/2 that? You have calipers right? Can you calculate it to say .40?

ETA: Maybe just a shave to .40 will be good? You need to be comfortable with he reduction amount and the capability of your mom to test and monitor her tomorrow.

+4.5 55

Argh! I don't know what to do

Tomorrow is Saturday so I am here to monitor.

Mom was great today, but it was difficult for her. I asked her if I should abort the cycle this morning at +4 with high carb and she said no, she would help. She tried to text me her numbers, but couldn't figure texting out and kept calling me. My students thought it was weird I kept talking on my phone....obviously I am not supposed to do that, but I really didn't care.

So, the question is....she Barely went below 40, she hasn't held reductions in recent past, I am home tomorrow....what do I do?

I forgot tomorrow is Saturday. In that case, if you are comfy holding the dose and monitoring to see what she does, then go for it. I will be interested also. Sending hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I agree with Carla. Getting down to 39 even with giving HC earlier calls for a reduction. There is a really good chance that Osha is going to bounce to the moon after those low numbers so you could give the same dose for the morning shot if she is high (shooting through the bounce) then take the reduction for the PMPS.
