Good morning,
Long night but Sootie was barf-free. Her early morning Bg dipped up to about 180, but her am around 8am was 112.

Heading out soon with azalea for her recheck at eye specialist. She ate well this morning and, for a change, was a good doobie about her eye drops.

Heard from the Bailey chair people..they are terrific... Susan said they don't do kitty chairs but.....that many cg's of the mega esophagus kitties they know of use wearable baby carriers. Wow. Found online a DIY using a tee-shirt...so will give that a try first (no sewing required, either!).

Been calling around about the MG med vet rx'd in liquid form. The mfr makes it ina syrup (raspberry flavor), trying to get info about if it's diabetic-friendly. If has sugary type stuff in it, next step is to get it compounded or go with pills.

More later and thanks hugs and hearts for a smooth day for all,
Love
Sina

I'm glad Sootie made it through the night without any vomit. I hope she was able to eat some for you this morning. I'm glad Azalea ate well. I hope things go well at the OV. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Carla. I think Sootie feeling happier to be un-barfey and for some reason Bg's on own not horrible. Anti jinx. Crossing paws

And prayers for you and yours to have a smooth smooth day, ❤️

Hello, Azalea and I home from OV. Her glaucoma pressure was 27 today (37 a week ago and over 60 when starting OV's drops....around two weeks ago (I'm losing track of time ).
He sez the cornea is healing slowly but surely. Azalea amazingly was the model of 'good kitty during exams'
(She must have been listening to Sootie at last).
I bring her back in two weeks, in meantime same three kinds of eye drops but reducing One from 4 to 3 times a day, another (the glaucoma combo) from 3 to 2 x a day and the third drop same one at twice daily.

Sootie was having s good snooze when we got home, obliged witu a Bg check....168....and a little snack. Don't know how much she ate of or when she ate noontime fud I left for DH to feed Sootie. No signs of barfies, that's good.

Time for this one to take a nap before the supper routine starts.

Hugs hearts vines and thanks
Sina

Hi there amazing how a little nap rests the eyes.
Alas Sootie's pm is 200
(@Gussie's mom Does that count as a squinty blue?!). And inappetant tonight. Will try a different fud bc added a new probiotic...hoping that's what it is rather than....
Noticing that her breathing during pm test a little gurgly. I haven't seen any barfies unless she's done them in hiding today.
Hoping not aspiration into lungs. Texted vet to be on safe side.
Been holding off on any insulin bc she's been coming down on own into reasonable #s. Will see what vet sez. Meanwhile holding open possibility of a drop dose tonight. Geez....

Hang in there Sina..if it makes you smile a bit then yep! That's a squinty blue the way I'm looking at it!:bighug::)

YAY on Azalea's OV visit - good news all around. :) I'm sure you're both happy to do fewer drops!

I'm glad Sootie kept the food down during the day. Is the gurgling sound new or have you heard it before?

Gurgling is new. Like a uri without the congestion or glop.
Unless you count a super loud purr yesterday and this morning after eating.
Sorry for delay in replying. Vet wanted overhead video in bright light of her breathing. Haha...black cat who won't stay still and keeps hiding. However did find in some new and nor so new hidey places bits of vomit, some dry some not so much so. So my guess is she probably vomited some at least today . Which might account for why Bg on the high side tonight. Poor sweet Sootie.
Vet says keep eye on her tonight and text him if breathing changes.

Giving Sootie a chance to relax, offer new food, retest (or vice versa) and so it goes. Tonight obviously a skipped shot under the circumstances to be on safe side. Well, good thing for a little nap this afternoon.
Hugs and hearts and thanks for your vines and we share in sending vines for you all tonight too.❤️

Good plan. I'm sorry that there was evidence of vomiting today. I'm glad the vet is aware and in touch.
More vines and prayers and lots of :bighug:s.

Hi Sina,
That's good news about Azalea's pressure. Good girl!
The idea of using a strap-on baby carrier might help. Are you going to try it? Glad that Sootie has kept her food down today and hope that you all will have a comfortable night.

Hugs and scritches,

Thank you ❤️ Plan is to cut up t-shirt tonight. I think can make it adjustable for more upright position than shown in the how-to.

Sootie just ate a little a/d liquidy mush. With dish elevated. Then did a 'that's enough for now.' And has had enough of me handling her to get the kind of video vet wanted to assess her breathing.
Will recheck Bg in awhile even tho # might be good influenced. Hope she'll keep fud down. Crossing paws....

Thanks and for all your orayers and vines.
We are just home, sunrise kinda red (hope not mariners' saying).
Was immediately worried Sootie'd aspirated. Er vet listened to lungs thinks they're ok and that the sound (and also watched the barfing video and looked at b/w, radiographs ) was more from vomiting through nasal passages.
Got referral for gi specialist who is also endocrine diabetes specialist. Hoping my bleariness heard that right.
Sootie just ate a little and is now settling in with DH.
Got text from vet who saw the barf video I sent (and it is so weird awful and conflicting to video distress) ,bring Sootie in at 9am.
Oy time for this bean to sneak in a little sleep before the b'fast routine etc begins....
❤️

Sending good vetty vines to you Sina:bighug::bighug: it's good you got the referral :bighug::bighug:
sheesh, is there a Residence in by the vets?? You have to be totally exhausted running your fur babies in like you have been, and you went in to this round trying to heal from your Bo's passing..wish there was something I could do to make it easier for you..if there were magic wands I would wave it vigorously...:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

@Gussie's mom and all,

this afternoon been one of watching Sootie whose appy off, sequestering self in closet, breathing tho they say its sinus/nasal passages not lungs, is so distressing. She's uncomfortable being picked up, vomited the Pepcid AC and more froth immediately after I dosed it. She perked up some after subQ fluids and B12 injections, ate a little after (dish elevated) and scooted to closet. I put a small dish in there elevated on a little box and let her be. Just about to check on her now. I called Vet to switch from oral liquid clindamycin to injectable (luckily have an unexpired one at home) bc I know she won't be able to keep down the liquid antibiotic. So doing that tonight. Will check her Bg, and test for ketones if can catch her mid stream.

Azalea's appy off this morning, perhaps still a little pooped out from her long day yesterday. Alas didn't spend the extra time with her this morning but she is happy about less frequency of eye drops.

My apologies for not updating sooner, but it's been that kind of a day. Your vines, prayers caring and support are getting us through that's for sure. ❤️❤️❤️The er hospital/gi group said if anything changes for the worse over the weekend bring her straight in. They are 24/7 and by now have all her records from vetty for Monday's consultation.

I don't dare think about good sleep tho it's much needed! Hugs hearts vibes and smooth sailing and swimming in lagoon for all,
Sina
