11-29 Small Kitty - amps 475 pmps 392 +5 297 - That's part of the game

Good morning everyone,

This morning both kitties seem to be having a hard time. Big Brother is
still eating one little drop at a time and Small Kitty has hit a very high score
this morning. I think that he might have gone very low during the day
and is bouncing solid. Time to put the blue pants and wait.

Talked to my father about Big Brother, typical answer.. He told me that
cats no longer eat at this time of the season because they sleep all the time...

When I told him about the red line and what seemed to be blood he realized that
I must be right. My father has 2 dogs and something like 4 cats + 5 horses at
his ''farm''. I've asked him is he could strike a deal with his vet (for pet) and
see how it would cost to fix a gingivitis. He will and get back to me this after
noon. He told me we could grab BB and carry him to the vet ASAP.

In the mean time I turn the food into soup and follow BB to feed when he's
able to. Trouble is that Small Kitty is jumping on anything that could be
ingested.

That's part of the game..

It's been hard but I've been able to give BB a good food portion, chicken broth probably
helped. Small Kitty will have to go through dental as well. I think the back teeth has to
go. There is the same red line BB has but spreading up to haft of the teeth.
GL might go down with that and I'll be set on liver state and blood work.

Hey Sebastien, sounds like BB needs to go to the vet sooner than later. If you see red tissue going up the tooth, it is resorption which is the cat equivalent to tooth decay and the tissue grows into the lesion and it is very painful. Poor boy. This show a good photo of it and that was what knocked Bubba out of remission the first time.

to a clinic with the FD knowledgeable vet.

Big Brother is now on antibiotic for his full scale gingivitis,
he'll be going soon to a vet very soon, once infection has been killed.

I've anti-pain relief sold to my father by his vet : Metacam it is called, but this
is on standby, was told this is poisonous. Some more research to be made..

I've been able to make Big Brother eat. Wellness Core Grain Free cat food is a kind of mud.
I've pass it through an adaptor that came with the hand mixer that has two sharp metal blades.
This now like a purée and he's eating. Trick is getting Small Kitty away so he doesn't eat
everything

NO metacam. Not good for cats. . For pain ask for Buprenorphine .

I totally agree with Bobbie about the metacam. Once the AB start to work it will help with the pain until you are able to get the dental done. As far as a pain med for after the dental buprenorphine works well. You can either use it in a syringe and squirt it into the side of the mouth or you can get the injectable type which is given the same way you give insulin. Giving it in the mouth works better, but in my case I used the injectable because of the amount of dental work that was done I did not want to be putting anything into the mouth.
