Another option is to lower his dose for a few cycles to see what happens. Your SS shows nice numbers in the 2 - 2.5 u range from a while back. You can always raise the dose if this doesn't help.I was wondering if this was a bounce. I'm getting very concerned about him spending so much time in high numbers.

It's worth it to try lowering down to 2 or 2.5 u but you don't have to stay there for a week. The effect should be evident after 3 - 4 cycles or so. No point staying at a dose that isn't working. If Orion's numbers go high and stay there with the lower dose you can slowly increase.Yes, he did great at 2.5 before! I backed off at the time because he got too low. Now we are going back up again but trying to keep the dose the same for about a week at a time. Those high PS numbers bother me.
Orion should be fine when you're gone because he'll be where they can intervene if he has a problem. Is he very stressed at the vet's?
He gets very stressed in the car sometimes to the point of peeing. It's about a 25 min ride to the vet. Usually once he is there for a bit he calms down. He tolerates new environments pretty well. Just getting there is the problem.
My only other experience with diabetes was with his older brother Triton who has been OTJ almost 2 years. Triton was on Lantus and very easy to regulate. This has been much more frustrating.
