Good morning!
AMPS 72 :D:D:D:D shooting .1u
Boomer will now only eat (most foods) if I scoop the food out of the auto feeder dish and onto a plate AND add a crumbled up num-num to it  Which I did at +3 before going to bed. I was really hoping he would not wake me up at +6 last night because I was totally exhausted....and he was nice enough to let me sleep! I woke up a few minutes before +9 so got up, scooped the food out, crumbled a num-num onto it and he finished it up. Went btb but of course couldn't get back to sleep. He hadn't eaten his +6 at all which would concern me greatly if he was receiving more insulin but at .1 it doesn't concern me much and I know if he was hungry he would wake me.

There is about 4 inches of white stuff on the ground here.:p Mini Sessions continue today but only two who absolutely couldn't make it yesterday and one comes from about 30 miles away so not sure she'll make it as it's "squalling" here.

My friends who live in the Alberta area have already gotten lots of that white stuff. I think it's going to be a cold snowy winter for everyone...except me of course :p Gee Boomer why didn't you eat your snack? Hope the mini sessions go well and quickly so you can get some rest today!

We were in Alberta in early June and they had snow the week before; there were actually still some piles of it by the roadside.

Emailed purina yesterday for Fancy Feast info. And emailed "Wild Callings" today for info.

Have I read before that dried parmesan is ok to sprinkle on kitty's food?

I am in Alberta and it was brown here till last tuesday... and even now not even close to the snow we get this time of year... hoping it stays like this all winter...

Boomer Boomer Boomer you gotta eat your snacks.. what made it unappealing today.. maybe you could fill out a complaint card and the staff will change your order next time :rolleyes: not sure if we feel more like servants or staff sometimes lol... have a great day and hope your mini sessions turn out great:bighug::bighug:

I have two little Chow Chow boys who were wondering if they could come for a visit to play in the snow? ;) We had some flurries yesterday and everyone was very disappointed that it didn't stick and that their mama bean never even made it off the couch.

And Boomer is looking great these days - especially those green starts. :D

Christina, the boys are welcome here or I would love to send the snow your way lol! I'm happy I don't have to go out anywhere today.

@Lincolns Mom what area of Alberta are you in? We paid our first visit to Banff in June; I fell in love and if it weren't for my cats (one of which wouldn't travel well at all) I can see myself visiting for a few weeks each spring/summer!

Nice greens for Boomer. Silly kitty on not eating out of the autofeeder. I hope your sessions go well today. We were supposed to get snow flurries last night, but didn't get any. I'm disappointed. I love snow.

Boomer was hiding under the bed and I was concerned that he was running low (and I have customers due in a few minutes). But he came out when I called him, +4.5 77 :D:D:D I guess he just felt like laying under the bed

@Judy and Boomer we live 2.5 hours (253km) NE of Banff... if you loved Banff you should drive up through it into Jasper and spend sometime there... lots of amazing hikes and views... you can walk on a Glacier...

Morraine Lake

Peyto Lake

Both of those are on the way... plus there is Johnstone canyon (7 waterfall hike) at the top of which is the Ink Pots... my friend from Norfolk, VA brought his son up a couple years back and we spent a whole week taking them from Banff to Jasper... the son is 17 now and still talks about how that was the trip lol

@Lincolns Mom oh those shots are so beautiful! I have some shots of Morraine Lake but didn't manage to get one with really nice reflections
We did walk on the Glacier!
This is one of the shots of Lake Louise that I took.
Before we travelled, we had heard there were baby bears to be seen. I figured that, with my luck, I wouldn't see any bears  But we actually saw our first bear on the way to our cabin the day we arrived. And a grizzly the following day along with a black bear. And a cinnamon black bear with two cubs the following day! In total we saw 11 bears and I was so happy!!!:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

@Judy and Boomer OMG BEAUTIFUL SHOT!!!! if you love being there you should really look at going to Whistler BC on day and seeing everything out there also beyond beautiful!... that is a lot of bears to see that is awesome... my grandparents lived in Cranbrook BC so we would drive through Banff National Park to see them... a lot of great memories about those drives... every year in May i feel like i should be driving through to go see my grandpa on his birthday.. he lived to be just shy of 96 so i was going out there into my 30s... did you get some good shots of the bears too?

Boomer - love that green!:D

Looking forward to seeing the Wild Calling data. Are they giving you the phosphorus and sodium numbers too?

Judy - you know you have to visit us in BC one day! Maybe even take in the islands as well as the mountains. I've attached a photo of the cove where we row - not great quality pic, it was a phone camera. But you get the idea.

Sorry about the white stuff, we are getting "liquid squalls".

@Wendy&Neko BC is definitely on the to-visit list! Maybe in 2017; like I said above it all depends on whether Boomer lets us! That is a beautiful spot; I might be tempted to row too!
I have the Wild Calling info; here is the link

OMG so cute that is another beautiful picture
@Lincolns Mom I was so thrilled to see them! We had seen mama bear by the side of the road and stopped to photograph; saw a wee movement in the woods behind her and here come two babies! I was so very happy. And they were only a few feet away; babies were very curious about all the cars but mama paid no attention to us at all.

That must make things pretty easy. Big Brother and Small Kitty are either aware of who's in charge of the food
and don't ask or they are just well shy of asking.

Sounds Boomer's pancreas is having a hard time deciding on what he wants. Sorry you to
have to go back and forth from otj then back to low doses.

There is sadly lots of members in that club, that's kind a strange that a working system
is barely performing properly but not enough so stop insulin.

Hope eating will come back without strategies and become natural again.

Good evening Judy.
.

Sigh - all Wild Calling a little high in phosphorus. Which is what I suspected. Thanks for doing all this digging Judy.
Not sure why they need to add salt to cat food but it's listed on the label  But DH picked up a can yesterday when he couldn't find the one I sent him for  and I wouldn't give it to Boomer without checking it out first; it's 3.18% so really good and he really likes it. Today. At 5:00 pm. Tomorrow....who knows:rolleyes:

Not sure why they need to add salt to cat food
The raw food preparation recipe I use is from Dr. Lisa Person's web site, she says it's
essential :

''The iodized Lite salt (or, for non-US residents, regular iodized salt) is not an optional ingredient. It is a definite requirement when using only chicken or turkey parts
The Lite salt adds in some sodium and potassium''

.

The question is how much salt is nessesary. My heart kitty Neko should not have foods high in salt. There is quite a range in foods. Some of the Wild Calling are actually decent sodium numbers, just not the phosphorus.

Love the great pics in this condo today. Beautiful!

Rusty liked Wild Calling (chicken) until I bought a case. Story of my life. I hope the cats at the shelter liked it! When Wild Calling was just getting going their ingredients were not quite the same as now. I think Rusty liked the earlier recipe.

Boomer, try to eat yer fuds on mamabean's schedule. OK? She's the "server" and she needs her sleep.
