Good morning all in LL and here's for sunny day for all.

Sootie this morning's amps a surprise given yesterday starting off in mid-blue and then in the yellows until ca 4am at 132!

This morning (and even with me being late), Sootie's amps 102.......a near squinty to green. Wow.

Nervous Nellie asking and Checking slgl sheet so that I'm getting this right: mid-cycle if Bg 90 or <: decrease. So...102 is close but no cigar...ain't 90 so....hold dose at skinny 0.25u! Yes?
ETA: I tx'd skinny

I'll be out later morning til mid afternoon. Will retest and give snack before head out and leave fud instructions with DH for noontime feed.

Oh geez, Sootie's back in bathtub calling for faucet water and food in tub....

Etaa: skinny 0.25u; tx'd.

Hey Sina, did you shot the skinny .25? Your SS is blank . If you did, definetly get a + 1 or +2 to see if she is still headed down and you can steer with some food.

Hi Bobbie
Yes I did the skinny 0.25u. Sorry about leaving Ss blank, updated now! Yep,
Just finished azalea'a morning drops and feeding. It's almost +1 test time for Sootie so will do that now.
muchas gracias!

That's a great start for Sootie. I hope she surfs safely for you today. Sending prayers.
Let's hope so. I have to head out around 10:30 so will have just enough time to do +2 and offer fud if she needs it. Dh in charge of noontime feeding.

Ok, Sootie's +1 @ 144 (and she did eat between 8-8:30 pretty heartily).
Retest +2. Since she's up (maybe fud kicking and am dose not kicking in yet?) is best to have no food in between +1 and +2?
Looks like a bit of a food hike. I would get the +2 and see what that shows and if lower, give a bit of LC food to keep her surfing, maybe an ounce. Does DH test also?

Sweet start there Sootie! Not so sure about the bathtub again tho:rolleyes:
Working your way back down those micro Doses!!
Surf safely today, sending healing vines to Azalea :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hope you can grab some rest in there somewhere Sina.....:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sounds like an excellent plan!
alas, DH does not test...would be great if he would...it would help a lot. Cuz he's the night owl and I'm running on fumes... (Lately been like I'm going downhill but the popping the clutch not jump starting!)

+2 at 10:17am = 118
Plus ate about tsp LC slurry but Bella and Dancer were hovering.
Putting on bed for her to snack on. Is acting BAR and miffed about hourly ear pricks. Crossing paws.

Azalea pretty submerged this morning but eating. Am worried.

Hugs love thanks and here's to a smooth day all around for everyone.

Back home. Sootie's +6.5 at 2:44pm ET = 144 & some fd turkey treats.
And had eaten noontime slurry that DH gave her.

Oh my, Sootie's pmps 244. Didn't eat afternoon extra snack and I fell asleep. She is eating supper now.
Tx'ing skinny 0.25u.

I have ominous feeling that Azalea's follow up on Monday at eye specialist will likely yield eye removal. Crossing paws for miracle.

If comes to removal, suggestions/advice/experience on preparing for and post-op care? Extras re Nutritional, etc? (The liver shake, that I made with v-8 didn't go over very well the other night but post-op might be different story and next time I think I'll pulverize and strain carrots instead--hadn't found carrot juice in stores nearby).

Hey Sina, I had to syringe the liver shake for Bubba. The instructions said that some cats will lick it off the plate......not Bubba. So if she stops eating for you I would be prepared to syringe feed. It is pretty amazing that Bubba did not lose his appy after the eye removal.

Have a quiet place for her when she returns from surgery. Bubba wanted to be inside my walk in closet........ I had taken a large laundry basket and lined it with blankets for him . Or somewhere it is quiet and away from activity and noise. Also, rub the Traumeel all around the orbital area prior to taking her into the surgical procedure.

My heart hurts for you because I know all the emotions you are going through. I am going to send a post op Bubba hours after he returned from the procedure. He looked amazing good.

hugs and hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Here's a photo within hours of his sugery. I put the collar on him right after this photo.

Wow. Bubba, though prob still zonked, looks like he was handling it well, too. Was there an incision extending beyond tear duct area or is that draining blood?
That was draining blood which I left alone for many days. I was too afraid to do too much to the area. As you can see, there was very little swelling and I contribute that to my homeopath guiding me to rub the traumeel all over the area. I told the vet who did the surgery about it and he was impressed. If you Google enucleation most of the time the orbital area is shaved and I was nicely surprised that the vet did not shave the area. By the way , the vet that did the removal was a pathologist before he left human medicine to go back to vet school. He was wonderful! And of course the pathology report was very thorough.

Hi Sina.

We were out all afternoon and evening, so just got Carla's tag.

I don't recall Cinco's eye area being terribly swollen after the removal. I don't believe it was shaved, either. We were instructed to keep the collar on AT ALL TIMES until his next appointment, and it was hard, but we did. Poor baby, being totally blind that really discombobulated him. Despite being diabetic, he healed from both his sugeries remarkably quickly. The OV was impressed. I'll have to look and see if I have any post op pics - I'm kind of squeamish, so I'm betting not. Our discharge instructions included the warning that there might be some bloody discharge from the surgical site and/or the nostril for several days following surgery. If this happened, we were instructed to compress the surgical site with a warm, moist, clean washcloth as needed to remove accumulated discharge and to reduce swelling. He had a Fentanyl patch (pain killer) when he came home and we were to remove it in three days. Following both his surgeries, the patch, and/or its removal irritated his skin so much that he ended up with a hot spot on the site. It was very difficult to get rid of and resulted in his needing to wear the collar an extra two weeks each time. He was not a happy camper. We were given the usual post anesthesia instructions about limited food and water to avoid tummy upset, and to keep him quiet and away from other pets until the incision was healed. We were told to watch for persistent vomiting, diarrhea or lethargy. That's about all I can recall and/or find about his surgeries. As you can see from the picture below, the incisions healed well and he looked like he had his eyes closed all the time.

The shirt was because he had developed another hot spot.

Couldn't find any pictures right after surgery, sorry.

I hope Azalea doesn't need her eye removed, but if she does, I'm sure she'll do just fine. Feel free to ask any questions, and if I know the answers, I'll be happy to help!

Sootie, your BG is supposed to go down after you get your insulin, not up!

Thank you❤️❤️❤️ Tricia. Will be doing new condo for today but wanted to reply to you here too. Head swimming (but not surfing).
Thanks to you for sharing about Cinco's post op and to Bobbie about Bubba's eye surgery too. Helps me wrap my head around it all.

Definitely am going to say no to fentanyl patch whether OV suggests it or not.
1. Azalea is barely 6# if that these days. No way could she tolerate it, even if the adhesive itself weren't such a problem.
2. imho, it is really dangerous stuff and far as I know still a big black box no-no.
Also from my own experience: my mother was put on a fentanyl patch while in rehab post-hospitalization. She had severe arthritis, some dementia and was having real hard time recovering from fever of unknown origin delirium. The nursing home doctor had it put the patch on her without my knowledge or consent. She almost died from the side effects of that patch. When I confronted him (after days of him refusing my phone calls and even demands for a meeting with him) he finally responded by saying that my mother was hopelessly demented, incapable of making her own decisions, but had given her consent to him. He never read the hospital discharge orders, pcp notes or family instructions in the
chart that said NO OPIATES OF ANY KIND. And he was furious at me for 'countermandering' his authority, (and yes he described himself as having 'divine authority') when I had ordered the night nurse to remove the patch immediately. I got her out of there pronto. Took months for her to recover.

Btw love the photos of Cinco (and in his really cool shirt!). I really appreciate your sharing so much about him, I know it must bring tears of memory of him. But he shows how much he was loved by you and that is always with him. ❤️❤️❤️
