Well looks like all that time spent in blue triggered a little bounce, last time he cleared it in 4 cycles will be interesting to see if he does the same or if he clears it sooner(he has cleared previous ones sooner).

You do a great job of monitoring so I'm sure you'll catch it.:)

Have you read the thread about shooting a falling number, I love the way Libbie describes it as a gift, that gave me the confidence to shoot even when he was dropping, helped me understand what I needed to watch for and I felt more in control, if a bit :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: (much like you felt last night)

Here's the link to the thread TR protocols:myths debunked post #6 is the one about shooting a falling number, but there is a lot of great info on that thread as a whole.

Seems he's decided to really go for it on the trampoline:rolleyes:
Looks like today Gizmo can have a little pokey break.
If you can resist poking him, I would get another test at about +5/+6 (just to be sure he is no up to any shenanigans) and take some time for yourself.;)

Thank you for the link. I went and read the entire post over my third cup o'joe. I am so thankful that Gizmo is not a real erratic cat as far as his numbers and food (he will eat just about anything put in front of him as long as he is not having a panc flare). I am beginning to see patterns, but it is still extremely nerve racking the first time. He will do what he will do, in his own time (NOT MINE :)). I am grateful that I have the vacation to take right now to really push this. I am truly hoping for remission but am grateful for the fact that he is feeling so much better.

I guess I am more following TP right now though that will probably change back to more conservative approach once I go back to work after Thanksgiving. I will have another two weeks of vacation during Christmas so I can hit it hard then too.

Fingers crossed for a drop in the numbers @ +3, +4.

Looking at my spreadsheet - when he dropped with the dose increase @ 1.25U I couldn't shot because of work (11/08). I shot last night with the low numbers so will be curious as to what he does with tonight's shot.

I have the flooring guy and the general contractor coming this morning or I would make my eye appointment this morning. Oh, well, best laid plans. I will test @ +3 (before his snack) and then give it a break and test as you said. I really am getting a lot done but do need to get out and run some other errands.

I don't remember whose post I read - but someone stated that getting them to exercise help. We have been doing that more when he is feeling good and I think that is helping too.

Gizmo, that is not necessary this morning but at least you get a pokie break and mama bean does too. Just for your information some kitties bounce until they are all the way OTJ. I hope that's not the case with Gizmo but he really hasn't been on insulin long at all so could take some more time. You're doing great and hope you both have a good day.

Three little ducks ;)

Nice slide down.

PMPS 197

For historical purposes:
AMPS 379, +2=446, +3=346, +6=222, +11=224

Got a phone call from my vets office this afternoon. The tech that called is the vet that has the bond with Gizmo. He was just checking in on how Gizmo was doing. Asked about testing and was excited to hear the progress. We talked about how well Gizmo is doing and how well he handles the testing and shooting. He had to laugh because I told him that he doesn't know the Gizmo at home (vs. the Gizmo he sees). Tech (Bill) is amazed at the progress that we are making and excited to see him in December when Gizmo is scheduled to go back for a full bloodwork panel and urinalysis.

I thought that was pretty special that they just called out of the blue to check on us. They always have called a few days after hospitalization or meds to check on him but never - just out of the blue. I love my vet and the techs there - I just wish that they weren't as busy as they are. Also, Gizmo's vet only works weekdays until 5:00p so getting him there is a challenge sometimes.

Sounds like an encouraging chat with the vet office, sounds like they have a good set up.

Nice blue PS, he seems to be working the dose, from pink amps to blue pmps, he may keep you busy tonight(anti jinx), I would get a +1 and or +2 (personally I always liked to get those +1 if George was dropping fast it gave me a little more time to try and control the BG dive).

I'm off to bed now, (midnight here) hope you have a good cycle.

Steady now Gizmo, no shenanigans, just gentle surfin please.

Nice blues for the pm cycle, he got to them in a more controlled fashion, maybe that'll help him hold on to them for longer, keeping paws crossed for a blue ps.
